Is editor mode just the screen that pops up once you press esc? and how do you exit editor mode without closing overgrowth?

So I'm having a party next week and I recently bought overgrowth and want to set it up for people to play. I downloaded Lambent Dash and tried opening it up and this happened: http://i.imgur.com/c6uoAWT.png

Is there a way to play split screen using only 2 xbox controllers? I'm trying to play pvp maps with friends but the single screen gets very annoying.
