Re: Bug reporting station
Started to play the advance testing build just uploaded to Steam. Cleared the cache via SUMLauncher. Community mods are no longer available from the main menu. Attempted to load grass and arena levels. Got this error: Compiling vec3 GetTargetVelocity() ERR: playercontrol.as (273, 5) 'dir_x' is not d...

Re: Shadows/Light Affecting Stealth?
I got so used to sneaking around Skyrim as a Khajiit that I almost naturally keep to the shadows in Overgrowth. However, it makes sense that shadows wouldn't make any difference in this game since they probably can't be detected by the AI anyway.

Re: Optimizations?
I don't know that, but I do wonder if the compiled scripts can be run on multiple threads. Then again, my GPU doesn't like levels with lots of grass, so there's that kind of optimization, too.rodeje25 wrote:Wait so the game uses only 1 core? This really needs to be fixed...

Re: Optimizations?
yeah, I can run Skyrim like that, makes no sense (especially with the black shades stuff  ) I usually say to myself, "well, technically this (build of the) game is made in 2015, so it must be really up to date  After modding, I got Gothic 3 working pretty well on my system. Even thou...

Re: Optimizations?
For me the default levels are playable on my laptop (i7 @ 2.4 GHz and GT 630m). However, I've noticed that this game seems to be limited by single core performance, which is unfortunate. Graphically, if I am able to run Batman Arkham City at high settings under DX9 & 720p, then it's rather unfor...

It was fun, though it did lag a bit on my system. (i7 3630qm, NVidia GT630m)

Re: [Help] Blender Error
I noticed the same error, too, but I was using the latest Blender just to look at the game files, in particular the character rigging and animation. I tried loading up some terrain .obj with a posed character to have a go at some Cycles renders just for fun. I do have the 2.55 version as well, so ne...

Re: What do you like/dislike seeing on Custom Maps?
Having tried some more custom maps lately, something I would like to see is automatic respawning. It kind of breaks the flow to escape out to restart the level constantly, since I die a lot!

Re: [Map] Airtemple
Thanks, Anton. I downloaded and will see if it solves the issue later. I made a copy of the Steam install to another drive for reference after I got the game. There doesn't appear to be any missing files so far as I can tell.

Re: What do you like/dislike seeing on Custom Maps?
It's hard to describe what I like to see since I'm still new to the game. However, when I think of good level design, Dark Souls PTDE comes to mind. For a parkour style game I think Mirror's Edge has well designed levels made to challenge one's skill at navigating the environment. So far, what I don...

Re: [Map] Airtemple
When I attempt to load the mod I get the error:
Could not load image file
"Data/Textures/Plants/Trees/temperate/ferns_low_w.tga
There are c, n, and t files (tga converted dds) for ferns_low, but no w files in that folder.

Re: Sky Error
When I downloaded the game, I made a copy of the entire installation folder on another drive. Since I just downloaded from Steam this week, there's not much that could have changed since installation. Neither the game directory nor the copy contain TAR files in the Textures\skies folder, only DDS. C...

Re: Sky Error
Thanks, but where is the cache located? I found a cache file in Documents/Wolfire/Overgrowth/Data/Temp, but deleting it didn't seem to do anything. You can clear it with SUMLauncher, in one of the buttons at the very top of the program. Clearing with SUMLauncher didn't seem to help me, but loading ...

Re: Can't open rigging tool
Well there was an older one; http://forums.wolfire.com/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=28032 It requires a specific version of blender though. Probably the best tut available if you know nothing about blender. Though, some animation background would probably help a lot to move and blend IK/FK and other ha...
