Re: Unofficial, alpha 16 weekly build

Grrr, Phillip, Fix the grid bug! I wanna make nice aligned buildings D': Okay, okay, just fixed it. Sorry to have neglected that for awhile, but remember, these are still leaked builds, so I'm not actively trying to make things usable for everyone. That said, I can't wait to see what you do with th...

Re: Level Editor Suggestions

Sorry to have neglected this thread for so long. It is really awesome to be getting all these suggestions :). I'll definitely try to consider each one, both here and elsewhere in the forums, blog, trac, etc. Often times, certain suggestions don't fit into my immediate development schedule, so I migh...

Re: Early paint brush tool

Yep, they are tree trunk models. We can make both solid and walk-throughable plants and the paintbrush supports both. In the end, the vegetation will probably be a combination.

Re: Unofficial, alpha 14 weekly build

Hey, i think i got an idea, how about adding a feature, that would wield together multiple objects? No, i don't mean Grouping, i mean like you would wield multiple objects together creating one huge object, that lets say would be 100 rocks and then by wielding them together, you would get one big m...

Re: Unofficial, alpha 14 weekly build

Thanks as usual, jo-shadow, for the detailed impressions! Fancy new selection mode. I like. However when selecting more than, say 100 objects it should revert to a a solid color to maximize framerate. The selection effects are probably not the bottleneck right now, though if they end up being slow, ...

Re: Showoff thread

That island of Lugaru is awesome. I'd like to see Rabbot hopping around the coast. Also, the basic edition of World Machine 2 is free! The only limitations are you can't use it for commercial use and the max output resolution is capped at 513x513 pixels (more than enough to do lots of cool stuff). Y...

Re: Unofficial, alpha 13 weekly build

About the load object bug, various functions now check against object bounding spheres, and the bounding spheres were not being updated properly (but yep, you can force them to update by pressing '0'). This is fixed now, but in alpha 13 it makes newly loaded and newly moved objects temporarily buggy...

Re: Unofficial, alpha 11 weekly build

The grid is coming along nice. However, right now the grid is moving along with the object. Wouldn't it make more sense for the grid to be world specific, and so locked in place when you move the object? Thanks for the idea Jo-Shadow! As soon as I saw your post I was like, ah, yeah, that would be s...

Re: How do we save our edits?

Hmm, btw the add tool is actually selected automatically now, so after you load an object, you should be able to just click anywhere in the world to place it... Which object are you trying to load? Try loading "block.xml" and then click on the ground near the camera? Also, I'm glad you ask...

Awesome. Nice job Silverfish! This stuff is all right on, and I like how you presented it. Thanks for making this!

P.S. In alpha 6: hold down 'alt' and you transform a clone, rather than the original object ;).

Re: Alpha Readme

Yep, the scaling tool definitely needs some work. For now, you can just use the up and down arrow keys, if you want to avoid crazy scaling.

As for the arrow key focus bug, thanks for pointing this out. I've fixed it for the next version of the alpha.

Re: Alpha Readme

Hey Vrav, Yep, I'm happy to have your questions, though in this case I think David will be able to help more. A pan and orbiting camera is definitely something I plan to try out in the map editor, and maybe some nifty views like isometric and birds eye view. Light placement and light editing would a...
