Re: Unofficial, alpha 32 weekly build

How much space would each map take if the AO was pre calculated and included in some form of the mapfile? This is actually more or less how it works right now. AO is stored in the shadow map for each object in each level. These shadow maps can be found in 'Data/Textures/ShadowMaps'. Luckily each sh...

Re: Some technical questions about the engine and editor

Hey Adaoui, welcome to the forums! I wanted to know if models could occlude automatically the scene that you couldn't see behind the model. Right now, this isn't supported. But it'd be a pretty cool optimization, and it's something we will consider. Also ,regarding the new decal tech, I was wonderin...

Re: new OverGrowth editor feature idea - Lock grid

I think there are a lot of really cool ideas here. Thanks for the suggestions GDer! (and you others who have suggested similar things in the past). I'd like to eventually come back to snaps, and if I do, I'll definitely take these ideas into account. But, we can only do so much, and right now we hav...

Re: Unofficial, alpha 20 weekly build

The scroll-wheel to cycle up and down the hierarchy is very nicely done (though because macs like to scroll 'notch-less', which when scrolling through pages and in folders allows for much smoother and more precise scrolling, but in this implementation because it is expecting notches it likes to tog...

Re: Foothold

Truly insane. I love all the details. The broken walls, the scale model at the lookout point, the crossbows and catapults. It's so fun to fly around and take it all in. I'd gladly defend this town from the onslaught of raiders and wolves.

Re: Unofficial, alpha 17 weekly build

I'm a bit confused... wouldn't it just require translating each object while scaling them so their relative distances remain correct? The mechanics I imagine for group non-uniform scaling I can create if I make a 3D model containing all the shapes I have in the group, then loading that as one objec...

Re: Unofficial, alpha 17 weekly build

Tool/Mode Selection - None of the number shortcuts listed work, except 8 and 9. Hmm, they all work for me. They just don't change the editor palette display yet. But if you try editing with them, I think you will see they do change the tool :). When translating object along normal/normal plane the ...
