Re: Alpha 1 FAQ
I see on today's blog post that Jeff decided to solve this problem with proper implementation of UI instead! Very nice! Looking forward to that.

Re: Alpha 1 FAQ
Ohai. I'm on Webkitten here because I clicked the FAQ button. Shouldn't we have a list of controls on the first page?

Re: Unofficial, alpha 33 weekly build
Let me put it this way; I've never had to upgrade video drivers because of a game (in the last 5 years). Maybe it's because I don't play that many games, and usually not shortly after release, or maybe I'm just lucky. :P Though, granted, upgrading a driver is a lot easier of a task than the usual wo...

Re: Unofficial, alpha 33 weekly build
This is a bit scary. Is "update your graphics card driver" going to be a requirement for the final release? If now, how are older drivers going to be tested?
(Sorry if someone else already brought that up.)

Re: Business model suggestion (steam-compatible)
Well Jeff the meat is meat to you and us but not to the rest of internet yet. When you launch OG for real, people will probably remember you're the guys who explained World of Goo and why supporting Mac and Linux is good, and this will add credibility to OG.

Re: Downloadable .pdf Instruction Manual
A manual for playing the game sounds like a waste to me.
A manual for modding the game, however, sounds like a good thing to me.
Then again, if you can make it in-game using chrome hotness, it sounds like an even better idea. XD As long as it's complete (or wiki?).

Re: Vote for your Favourite Races
Raccoon and skunk (skung?) have one duplicate each.
But I'll be reasonable and vote for what I think it would make the game more interesting (besides the already announced races of feline, canine, and rodent (how maus!) and the obligatory rabbits
#7 raccoon
#14 hawk
#33 lizard
#39 wombat
#65 lion

I'd pick Angelina Jolie.Jeff wrote:I like paris hilton. Some day, if I make a really cool video game I hope I can meet her.

kind of like Spore Wasn't that quite a shitstorm? I don't usually follow these things, but I have a vague memory of people being up-in-arms... yeah it was but i'm getting at the DRM not anything else b/c that's what this topic is about and not only was Spore a good example of how to take a good ide...

Re: Are serial keys friend/family friendly?
I think there should be unlimited simultaneous LAN players (Overgrowth parties!), but only one or two online. Sounds like the best approach in my opinion as well! That also means one license per LAN house, which is rather attractive to them (on the other hand, has the danger of one license per mult...

Re: Just another idea...
Sight is a 2D sense (we detect depth in a 2D way), mapping it to a 2D screen is a solved problem. Cat sight (short range sight with enhanced movement detection) sounds like something easy to do in theory, but on the other hand it most likely requires a lot of effort and trial-and-error for a result ...

Re: Suggestion regarding enemy/NPC behaviour
Sorry for the double post. This is just to add (the Closed Caption screen shots of) the commentary tracks I've mentioned, since obviously not everyone that is interested in this discussion is also interested in playing the HL2 series.
