Re: The Trouble with Randomised Loot Drops
Guys, guys, guys! Guess what! Speaking of kens: 3 years I've done Iado, and the other day I got to use a real fake sword made of real fake metal :D nearly cut myself of the fake edge - so freaking awesome  Seriously though: it may not be a real sword but that thing is made of metal. You hit...

Re: The Trouble with Randomised Loot Drops
Interesting idea. There's this clever feature in Hitman: if you want to use someone's clothes you need to kill them without their bleeding. A bloody uniform looks super-suspicious (unless you're playing dead in it)

Re: The "John's beard" thread! - Noooes, the beard is gone!
Sal tried to shave the beard, but the power of the beard was such that, instead of being cut off a new beard grew on Sal's face too! Let it be known: whosoever dares defile the sacred beard will soon be sporting a magnificent beard of their own. So it is written, and such is the truth for all believ...

Re: Anyone for Jam?
Can we not have this devolve into a thread where everyone wents their pathos? Perhaps I hit a nerve - really all I meant to say was that I'm a bit apprehensive: I'm the only indie game developer I know, and I'm worried that when I meet some actually real people It'll be brought home rather brutally ...

Re: Anyone for Jam?
what happens is you end up making an outcast out of yourself (especially if you live in a really small community ... I went to a school where there were only 20 kids in my class, and 30 kids in the entire town.) There were only 7 kids in my class, myself included. By the end of High-School I'd know...

Re: Anyone for Jam?
Okay, so clearly I rubbed a few people up the wrong way saying I'm "almost normal in real life", but you have to understand that to me "normal" is practically and insult. "Normal" people are boring. But what they're not is taped inside bins and rolled down flights of st...

Re: Anyone for Jam?
True. Coupled with the fact that he felt he had to say it, which by law of the internet makes me highly doubt the truth behind such a statement...also coupled with the fact that he very clearly is a geek. Normally someone would precede such a statement with "no offense" or something along...

Something like that. My brother got angry with me and deleted all my saved-gamesUberbeard wrote:Are you using your dual identities to mask some disaster that happened in your past? Perhaps you got almost all the way through an old video game before a thief came and shot your memory cards?

Re: Anyone for Jam?
Good point. I'm practically a normal person in real life (I'm a "closet" geek). I might not fit in with those geeks who have truly embraced their geekiness :? I find the geeks who can't quite come to terms with it are the more awkward brand. I prefer to think of myself as more like Batman...

Re: Anyone for Jam?
John and Anton probably stay out of the bad parts of los angeles ... Ergo they both live in a bunker. This explains so much  The awkwardness is so fucking thick the moment you step in the room for most of these events that you just want to get the hell out as fast as possible. Good point. I'...

Re: Anyone for Jam?
just stay out of detroit, new york, or los angeles. ¿¡¿What's wrong with Los Angeles?!? It's like Australia: only tourists get bitten/eaten by sharks. And in America, I'm sure, only tourists get shot. I mean, every time I speak to John I ask him if he's been shot and he tells me "no". How...

Re: Anyone for Jam?
Everyone who makes games seems to live either in the US or Sweden. It's bizarre
Still, there must be some Italian indie game people, if there's a jam in Verona (or maybe I'll be the only person who show up)

Anyone for Jam?
I've never participated in a Game Jam, but it sounds like a lot of fun. Trouble is I'm too terrified or being shot, stabbed, crucified and set on fire to go to America. Luckily The Global Game Jam is coming up :D I'm in Trento at the moment, so my options are really Munich or Verona (or... Munich )....
