Re: Fighting in OG
What's the reasoning behind getting a different ending because of your reversal/attack ratio? I don't understand how this would change anything significant. It works in Iji: http://www.remar.se/daniel/iji.php Regarding "taunts" and similar: Either the range of long-range attacks should be...

Re: Fighting Styles
I see that as the sort of stuff that should be under player control tbh. Just because I've been generally brutal or controlled doesn't mean I don't want that choice taken away from me ingame. Basing parts of the plot off that behaviour is quite different to controlling what options I have in a figh...

Re: Fighting Styles
That is a possibility, I suppose, as long as you keep the simple controls. Also, the rating system for brutal/controlled. Is it possible to have a gradual shift between styles? How would that work? You have an idea here, but how difficult would that be to implement into the game. It wouldn't affect...

Re: Overgrowth Interview with Wolfire Games
Oh, this review did mention Lugaru. I helped me actually finish the campaign mode! I hadn't known that I could just keep the mouse-button pressed to attack... I tried to time it every time, which didn't work out too well. I liked the review, but I don't think it will get much attention here. It's mo...

Re: A petition!
The idea isn't to make it easier for people who already know about Lugaru and Overgrowth, but to bring in people who didn't know any keywords spesific to this forum. These are the only keywords from your list that help in there: fighting rabbits David Rosen fighting game indie game mac games Other t...

Re: Fighting Styles
I would really like to have an option to give different characters different combat animations, so that not only could spesific fighters have unique fighting styles, but modding in new combat styles would only be limited by the modders' ability to use the procedural animation system. Allowing moddab...

Re: Martial Arts Video References for Overgrowth
Thanks, GreenFlame. I don't think voting system is necessary. If this thread gets enough videos, it could be worth re-organizing, but as long as the videos have at least short descriptions it shouldn't be too hard to find any single video again. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YLasYjqSrq0 longswords,...

Nick "GreenFlame" posted this as a reply to the "Fighting as an end in itself" blog post. I replied there and asked him to post it in this thread, but there was no reply. Here's his post, slightly edited (I left out links to wikipedia, because this thread is about videos and not ...

Dagger disarms, 2:30
High quality video. It has only one "technique", which is used in different situations. Dagger vs dagger disarm, unarmed vs dagger disarm, ending in a stab, a lock or taking the opponent's weapon for yourself, etc.

Re: overgrowth, mods, ideas, art, ANYTHING!
So, I listened to the podcast. You have awesome plans. If you manage to go through with them, Phoenix engine will be powerful and developer-friendly package. People will use it to make big projects, which you'd like to see evolve beyond Overgrowth and Lugaru. The next step would, of course, be selli...
