Please guys, be honest, am I hip too? I like to think so... http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_gQvHTOVcj20/TPls-wBik3I/AAAAAAAAAD0/ixbAe-z4-1Q/s400/super-nerd-maroto.jpg Ayup. You got the full inventory right there. ...wait, you're missing your Jack Daniels and your ceramic skull bong, right? Edit: Oh hell ...

Re: Game of Thrones thread!
damn, I can't wait 'til it comes out on disc! the 5th book is pretty dang good-- with crazy developments, and more sudden and catastrophic murders, even wider stretching politics and power plays, and, well, lots of hacking plus stabbing and some killing, plus war, famine, pestilence and fire... Sort...
Re: Fan Art
Hey, thanks for suggesting MyPaint, Korban3. It rocks. There's no image manipulation built in, but for sketching and painting, it's awesome. Best I've tried so far.
I'll post some stuff when I figure out how to crop and resize images in Gimp or p-shop at work.

Re: Game of Thrones thread!
ayup, her stuff is being done... not maybe as quick as I'd like, but it is indeed on the move... you should stick with it, I think. funny thing about telling a story from so many points of view: I'm finding a lot of stuff tedious just because I really want to get back to the stories of the character...

Re: Game of Thrones thread!
Hahaha! Who else is reading this sword opera? I gotta say, the Dance w/ Dragons book is moving things along nicely. I stayed up 'til 3 am reading it, so I must be enjoying it. There's a little intro that says it's not quite a sequel to the 4th book, but that the stories run at the same time as the 4...

Re: Movies
No dude, I meant the one part of the book that everyone agrees is total WTF worthy! SPOILER: I'm talking about Robb and Cate's *final* dinner with the Freys! I simply could not handle it, and it basically ruined the book for me. Is it worth reading the rest of AFfC in your opinion? I've about had i...

Re: Movies
^ I read up to halfway through A Feast For Crows then stopped. Not sure if I want to get back into it. Everything was exciting and gripping up until that one particular scene in ASoS (you know which one), but everything after that seems so half-hearted from George R.R. Martin. Additionally, after t...

Re: Movies
Anyone watching Game of Thrones? I heard it's pretty awesome. I'm in the middle of reading the 6th book, and the writer is both fantastic at plot and cringeworthy at style. Not Dan Brown cringeworthy, or Robert Ludlum, but awful in his own way. These guys need partners; they spew forth amazing plot ...
Re: Fan Art
The absolute best art software is My Paint. By far. You can try it from mypaint.intilinux.com. It is completely free and Linux native with installs for Win and Mac. Did I mention it is free? It has great blending and a lot of brushes. It is great for simulating traditional art as well. I recommend ...
Re: Fan Art
Hey, I have a question for all you artists: have any of you Wacom tablet users tried both Gimp and Photoshop (and Corel Paint Essentials, for that matter)? I had a copy of Photoshop C7 for a couple of weeks and it was very fun and easy to use... I tried to make it go in Gimp, but it's really a ton o...

Re: Opinion on the dialogue ideas.
As David pointed out in one of his changelogs (I couldn't tell you the number, but it had something to do with making the character faces move), the wolves are more emotive than the rabbits. With their forward facing binocular eyes, the wolves' faces are much more similar to humans. We can expect t...

Re: randomness
I can hook you up with someone with more experience on the field . This, of course, would set you in a small debt to me. Wait, which field are you talking about exactly-- the Engineering one, or the other one? I mean, he has a degree in Engineering, but, well I guess you can sort of learn on the jo...
