Re: Does such a programming tool exist?
Sounds like what you need is LabView. It's generally used for robotics, but it has most of the functionality of text-based programming languages in a drag and drop block environment. It's a bit complicated, but it's used heavily throughout the industry. http://www.ni.com/labview/ Edit: It won't conv...

Re: Humble Indie Bundle #2
I'm pretty sure all the top contributors are legit, and the advertisers just figured that $1000 for a spot on the contributors list was a good deal considering how many impressions it gets. I was specifically talking about the entry listed as "Metasploit" with the price $1337. Metasploit is popular...

Haha, It would seem someone found a vulnerability in your website.

That or someone wants you to think they did, and paid an exorbitant amount of money to do so.

No, the name's been the same all the way through. Though I have found similar games on other forums with the title "image war".

Re: Trine
Great game. Definitely interesting gameplay, though honestly I didn't find too many of the puzzles too challenging. The only hard parts were getting the green bottles, that's where a lot of the fun puzzles were. I'll also mention that the soundtrack was just about the best I've ever heard for a game.

Re: All Points Bulletin
I'm all up for a buddy key if you get one. I've been watching the game for a while.
To those who care, there's 18 video podcasts released by the dev team on youtube with gameplay videos of many of the features (character customization, vehicles, APB's, etc).

Re: All Points Bulletin
EvE is a horrible grindfest...and its slow...and you can't crash into planets...or other ships...and the tutorial is horrible (Although I hear that they fixed that)...but I like the idea of EvE (giant fleet battles, space trading, ship building, etc...). If I had the patience, I'd probably sit down...

Re: All Points Bulletin
If anyone thinks that MMO's are a grindfest, play EvE for 6 months in a player-run corporation, and then we'll talk. As for APB, I watched about 6 of 23 gameplay leaks that some guy posted. It looked alright, but it didn't seem to revolutionary. The game itself seemed very fleeting: The world...

Re: "Roll To Dodge" Role-Play
I'd be in if it's realistic-based and has an interesting setting. Though I don't exactly understand the dice rolls. Would I post an action, and then you would replay with the roll? Or am I expected to do it myself? And would you only be able then to do a single action per post? In my opinion things ...

Re: Community pen and paper RPG project?
Sounds interesting to me. Might want to have a few rules for the magic though, so it doesn't turn into a "whatever the heck I need at this moment" kind of thing.

I meant the references to Toady and Scamps. http://df.magmawiki.com/index.php/ScampsBlorx wrote:No, just text based RPG influences. Even Angband, Akalabeth and the earlier Ultima games started in that way, or some way very similar to it.

Dwarf Fortress influences much?
Good start, though in my opinion, I would start with gameplay or features in general and then work on the menu once you have a need for it.

Yeah, screenshots and a description of the game itself (similar to how Wolfire posts an Overgrowth summary with every alpha) for those who have not followed the blog.

Horribly off topic, but whatever happened to those collaborative rpgs/stories back when Ragdollmaster hung around more often? Those were entertaining.

If you want more readers, you might update your website template. It's a little bland. Also you don't really have anything to show, or there are no links obviously placed that would catch the readers attention. Screenshots of interesting game scenarios (even if the graphics are crap, if the ideas ar...
