Re: The Bugs Thread
Ran alpha 4 on a MacBook Intel Core Duo 2.16 gHz with 2 GB RAM and a 256 MB ATI Radeon X1600. While the shadows were being cached (so after they'd been generated, while it said it was saving them), I got two almost identical errors (one several seconds after I dismissed the first): OpenGL error On l...

For some reason, my version of Snapz pro starts up, displays the logo and then quits. Hmm...thanks anyways. It doesn't quit. Snapz runs in the background and doesn't show up in the dock. After you've run the program, hit command-shift-3 (the default invoke command) and from there you'll be able to ...

Blorx: learning to program by trying to add a very difficult bit of functionality to someone else's code is not a route to success or very good learning. If you're interested in learning to program by messing around with pre-created, I suggest you check out the Torque Game Engine . It's way cool. Ad...

You have to make a new account to change the difficulty. It would be strange to keep your high scores when you go up in difficulty, because they would no longer apply. I suppose, but it would still be nice to be able to beat scores obtained on easy difficulty while on hard. Gives a nice sense of ac...

If you have a sword, try standing still holding down the mouse button while you wait for the enemy to get to you. As soon as they're in reach you'll perform a slash attack. Granted, they sometimes jump back, and when you are able to connect you'll only be able to do it successfully one or two times ...

Ambrosia is not doing the port of Darwinia. Introversion ( http://www.darwinia.co.uk ) has been developing both the Mac and PC versions of Darwinia in-house. Ambrosia is just the publisher for the Mac OS X version. Whoops, my bad. Still a damn cool game available through Ambrosia, though. Ge...

I don't really see any reason that he would want to sell Lugaru through Ambrosia, since that would just cut down on his profits. And it seems like it has plenty of polish to me (odd loading screen notwithstanding). :D Unless Ambrosia offered the ability to distribute the game to a much wider audienc...

User modifications
From what I've read on this forum, it sounds like it is possible to create user made maps for Lugaru, among other fun things. It would be nice if there was some sort of localized reference on how to go about creating user modifications instead of having to troll through posts upon posts in these for...

Lugaru Newbie: The demo is perhaps a fourth to a third of the length of the game. Playing on the easiest difficulty setting I was able to beat the game in the last two days. However, the challenge levels add quite a bit of fun, and it sounds like there will be user-made levels available as well. I'd...

Incrementing difficulty
I started a user name on the "easiest" difficulty, since I was getting destroyed handily by anything that moved. Now I've beaten the game on easy, and want to play it on the next difficult setting, but it looks like the only place where you can select difficulty is when you create a new us...

For those wishing for something new and awesome from Ambrosia, they are porting Darwinia. My PC-using friend downloaded the demo, and this game is pretty sweet.
As for Spiderweb, the graphics engine for the Geneforge games is miles away better than Avernum.
