Re: Class based multiplayer mod concept/standard MP concept
He ain't so big ;p. (He's huge)
Since the dogs don't have humans I guess they could be just as wild as the wolves (Only with weapons XD).

Re: Overgrowth Lore
Actually, about the hierarchy of the different species, they all have hierarchies. Wolves have the alpha(s). Dogs also have leaders since their behavior is similar to wolves. Rabbits have a hierarchy (There is usually a top bunny) Cats are just like the rabbits. And even rats: "Brown rats live ...

Re: Overgrowth Lore
I read the camouflage blog and saw players discussing specie characteristics based on their senses such as cats being visual, dogs and rats with scent and rabbits feeling small tremors in the earth from thumps, and most of them hearing. Considering they are anthropomorphic, they could have their abi...

Re: Blocking in OG
That's good, lugaru was kinda complicated with every function being a combination of the same 2-3 buttons (Can't remember much from the demo). Demo? It's only 20 bucks! For crying out loud, show a little love for Jeff John Philip and Aubrey! Alas I am too poor ( I am unable to make money in any way...

Re: Blocking in OG
I got a little confused with a few controls (I know they are old, but just out of curiosity). First Strike(hold) - attack when an enemy comes within range Move(tap) - dodge an attack if timed right, opportunity to counter-strike Grab(hold) - block if far away, clinch if close Two of these have the e...

Re: Overgrowth Lore
That's actually a very good point. Note, that while my language was somewhat ambiguous, what I meant by "necessarily ruling society" was that Wolfire has never explicitly stated that cats always have to rule over a society of lesser creatures. It's true, while all cats are "rulers&qu...

Re: Blocking in OG
In Lugaru, I find the blocking system sloppy more often then actually reversing something, he'll just duck and get kicked in the face by a wolf before he's even done ducking. That's because you timed it incorrectly  Lugaru subscribes to the "old school" of game design, which is to s...

Re: Overgrowth Lore
Who controls who? Cats or dogs? Last I heard, the only dogs under control of cats are those raised by them when they were puppies, makes sense to serve the master who raised me as some sort of bodyguard, while the other dogs who grew up with other dogs would despise cats. Rat Leaders I always pictu...

Re: Overgrowth Lore
Yeah, I also thought the carnivores would just feed off those (Birds, reptiles, nonmammals etc)), the rabbits and rats could also feed on fruit, I figure the rats could also feed on insects or maybe even poisonous mushrooms (They could develop a special immunity to toxic food due to them scavenging ...

Re: Overgrowth Lore
Rats (gypsies and vagabonds) and Wolves (xenophobic barbarians) are not on this picture - they'd never accept to be part of a social structure, even one that isn't all that formal. I must disagree with rats here, in real life, even as wild non sentient beings, they live in the city to feed easily, ...

Re: Overgrowth Lore
I could go nuts brainstorming, but It would just end up being ignored (I'm not the one developing the game), It is best if I just leave an open mind to whatever they can bake. Plus I don't know what setting they will use, it might even be the exact opposite of what I think it is, so expanding on my ...

Re: Overgrowth Lore
How can we be sure animals would behave that way if they reached sentience?, primates are very aggressive species which would explain why we are so coldhearted to what we do not understand. Rabbits are peaceful, dogs are usually neutral to what isn't dangerous, wolves...they hunt, but they don't sho...
