Re: New feature idea : build cavities
Well, I've heard that some newer games have voxel -based terrain systems which allow the terrain object to be constructed in all three dimensions, allowing stuff like overhangs and caves, but I seriously doubt they'd want to retrofit Phoenix with something like that when they're already this far in....

Re: New feature idea : build cavities
I've seen that feature in a game called Red Faction, years ago. They called it "geomodding". http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2LN7wJ0kZ8I I'd love to see geomodding in a modern game too, but game graphics have advanced a fair bit since then, and I think it might be disproportionately more di...

I tried out Voila for this one, since it lets you just record a section of the screen instead of the whole thing.

Re: Unofficial Overgrowth a117, weekly build
Another couple of small glitches I found while playing a116, which seem to be there still:
(would've posted it before a117 came out, but I ran up against some audio problems when uploading)

Re: Unofficial Overgrowth a117, weekly build
I have no idea what the problem is, but ever since I first downloaded the weekly builds I have been unable to place characters, press the rabbot button, or press any of the numbers that would switch to a character. When I do any of these, the window closes. I am on a mac if that helps. I tried to d...

By default, it's mapped to the Tab key.

Re: Unofficial Overgrowth a117, weekly build
I just noticed that wolf characters, whether player-controlled or AI, tend to tilt their head a little to the left now (at least for me). Not that that isn't adorably canine, but might that have something to do with how the wolf rig is interacting with the new head-looking feature? Also, +1 what Ray...

Re: Unofficial Overgrowth a117, weekly build
I agree that the animal sounds seem a lot more appropriate for combat. At the same time, I don't want to count out human voice acting for the dialogue, because, don't forget, there are loads of ways human voices can be altered once they hit the computer. You'll need good, expressive and convincing a...

Re: Overgrowth - Random Idea Dumping Thread
Someone else had a related idea , but would it be within the bounds of do-ability to separate fur colour into a separate texture from the fur detail ? The species appearing in Overgrowth have a wide variety of colouration in their real-world counterparts, which means that having (for example) only t...

Re: System requirements for Overgrowth?
It crashes when you switch to Rabbot or add a character under 10.5.x, and there were plenty of changes between 10.4 and 10.5, so I'd be pretty surprised if it ran alright on Tiger.Turtle wrote:Does any one know if this will run on a mac 10.4.11

Re: This site needs a reported x times stat.
What do you mean with "reported x times stat"? If I understand correctly, a bit of metadata attached to each forum user, much like their post count or location, that simply states how many times they've been reported. I like the sound of it; you could even sort the member list by reports,...

Re: How did you find about Overgrowth?
As I said before, I actually discovered Overgrowth because someone leaked it onto TPB. I was blown away pretty much right off the bat when I looked into it and discovered what Wolfire was doing here, so I saved and waited until I was able to preorder (to give you an idea, my last paycheque was ~$110...

Re: My Take and Suggestion on the Rabbits
I like the expressionlessness...sinister look the rabbits have. Makes the game serious, gives it atmosphere. The latest "Guard Sounds" poop on that somewhat but wateves Well, sure, there's "serious and atmospheric", but at some point it simply becomes less relatable. Well-done c...

Hi, guys and gals, I'm Mike. I'm 24 years old, and live in eastern Canada (though I seem to have overshot the important parts), where I dabble in various creative pursuits between retail shifts, including such things as amateur photography , amateur 3D modeling , amateur icon design , and amateurish...
