Re: DISMEMBERMENT!
It's really a matter of 'how much do I want and CAN I simulate' . As games have progressed through the past 10 years, the new technologies have allowed us to simulate reality better and better. Physics, dynamic lighting, destructable terrain, gibbing, etc. What's important to note however, is that e...

Re: Unofficial Overgrowth a143, weekly build
Have there been changes to the field of view?
I'm just asking because stuff enlarges near the sides of my screen.
Perhaps it's just that I've never noticed it before. But it suddenly felt different to me.

This is all very interesting though, I have learned a lot about prehistory today! Could you give some examples of these large hunter-gatherer "cities", like which continent and which century? I found an uncitated line on Wikipedia claiming it happened in western coast of North America and...

Divide the faces into groups of ones you want next to eachother, then unwrap each group on its own.

Re: Some suggestions
Regarding 2 and 4, Lugaru had 'animal' running. If you attacked an opponent while running towards him, on all fours, you used a tackle attack that threw the enemy to the ground. I'm sure those are on the to do list. About the ledge climbing, I agree this could be improved. IIRC they did some simple ...

Re: Game is laggy on new computer
I recall some Radeon users complaining about the latest drivers messing up their games, on some other forum. You could try to roll back to drivers from a couple of months ago, and see if it fixes anything. If you get really serious texture corruption, your videocard might be overheating -- I'm not s...

Re: Blood suggestion thread:
blood should look a tad darker and a tad transparent though especially with fur and cloth Yup. Also, opaque phong shaded blood always look a bit off I think. Can't put my finger on it what it is, but it might be the speculars need to be a little grainier. Perhaps also using a fresnel shader effect ...

http://mypaint.intilinux.com/ this one is nice too Whatever tablet you get, don't go below A5 size, you'll start to get cramps in your hand after a few hours because you can only use wrist movement. I used one a couple of years, then I switched to an A4 Intuos3 and the difference is night and day. O...

Re: Dismemberment.
I'm not really a fan of the idea. I think it makes sense for games like Quake, but I never had the feeling that Lugaru or Overgrowth were such brutal games at their core. In fact I do feel some sort of empathy for the characters in Overgrowth, not a lot of games do that for me, but I find the ones t...
