Re: Overgrowth on Linux status

I'd try freeing up some more RAM, it's claiming you only have 644MB free.

Also I'd try clearing out the ~/.local/share/Overgrowth folder and try again.

Please see this post over here viewtopic.php?f=13&t=16079#p172846 The next alpha should have these crashes fixed once and for all.

Re: Segfault in a187.

FYI, David escalated this issue to me and I am hot on fixing it.. I actually believe I have it fixed this time.. It's "yet another fluke crash caused by Awesomium". Even though it crashes in angelscript.. it's caused by awesomium.. More specifically it's caused by chromium's use of an &quo...

Re: Problem with Installing on Ubuntu/Linux

BTW why does OG require libjpeg6? Wouldn't it be easier to support the current version of it instead? It actually IS the current libjpeg version.. specifically libjpeg-turbo. The installer is *supposed* to just install the included version always and not require the system libjpeg at all.. I guess ...

Re: Problem with Installing on Ubuntu/Linux

liblua isn't needed at all, lua is embedded and used by the installer.. I've been trying to track down what is causing this error you are seeing though.. Thus far I've only been able to hit it on arch x64. And things ran perfectly fine on ubuntu 12.04 for me. What architecture of unbutu 12.04 are yo...

Ahh, as I suspected. My guess is either the zip patch doesn't have the execute bit set correctly, or SUMlauncher isn't correctly carrying it over or setting it. Thanks a lot for diagnosing the issue though.

Re: Nothing Happens (Ubuntu)

I got an Ubuntu 12.04 VM setup and tested the installer in there a few times. I had to install libxss1 (I hope to remove the need for that dependency soon). and some minor tweaks to the install side of things I got it correctly handling libjpeg. From what I'm seeing the "dash home" button ...

Re: Nothing Happens (Ubuntu)

OpenTangent, in what way did nixstaller destroy Software center? In no way at all should the product destroy anything on the ubuntu system. It simply either installs the file into the directory you specify and then uses the freedesktop standard xdg utilities to install the launch menu item, OR it wi...

Re: Unofficial Overgrowth a180, weekly build

PLEASE make the linux installer --target option use a subdirectory of the specified directory as the working directory. :| :) I spent the night last night reworking the blasted installer to fix this issue. It now correctly will create a subdirectory if you pass an existing directory to --target. If...

Re: Unofficial Overgrowth a180, weekly build

PLEASE make the linux installer --target option use a subdirectory of the specified directory as the working directory. :| I did the mistake of pointing the target to my general temp dir in my home directory. When I noticed the installer started chowning my other files I knew something was off. I i...

Re: Overgrowth on Linux status

I'm not entirely sure if it'd work but try this: sudo chown MyName /usr/local/games/Overgrowth My guess is that there are certain textures needing converting but since the game's installed for root, it doesn't happen. Or check if the directory ~/.lugaru2 exists. Maybe the game couldn't create stuff...

Re: Overgrowth on Linux status

WOOHOO. crazy activity in the thread now. We may have gotten to the point where we need to start actually new threads :)

I wish the forum software had tags for threads. It'd make it easier for me to just monitor threads tagged with Linux :D
