Re: Overgrowth Linux problems and their solutions/workaround

Encouraged by your success I tried again. Sure enough the problem was in my sound setup. After some fiddling with my ~/.alsoftrc everything seems to work now. I did try everything I could think of back when I posted about the problem, but possibly something else has changed meanwhile. I'm just happy...

Re: Overgrowth Linux problems and their solutions/workaround

Any Arch Linux 64bit success stories? I'm still getting the sound effect loading errors I posted about earlier. Tried installing through steam as well for giggles.

Re: Overgrowth Linux problems and their solutions/workaround

Getting "Error: Failed to load" for every sound effect. Otherwise the game works nicely. If I keep clicking "ok" the game will run but spawn a new error every time a sound is supposed to play. I have verified all the sound effects are in their correct locations and they seem to p...

Re: Unofficial Overgrowth a201 build

The linux installer doesn't have the binaries in it? The only one in there is OvergrowthWorker.bin.x86_64.

Re: Unofficial Overgrowth a182, weekly build

I'm trying to get Overgrowth running on a 64-bit Kubuntu 12.04, catalyst drivers. If I just run overgrowth.bin.x86_64 I get: Creating OS Process Creating OS Process Creating OS Process Allocating 3 processes for texture conversion AL lib: oss.c:169: Could not open /dev/dsp: No such file or directory...

Re: Unofficial Overgrowth a180, weekly build

I spent the night last night reworking the blasted installer to fix this issue. It now correctly will create a subdirectory if you pass an existing directory to --target. If you pass a non-existing directory it will just use that. Also the installer packaging was redone a little so that the blasted...

Re: Unofficial Overgrowth a180, weekly build

uhh, what is lost on temp files? afterall, it are temp files  I was lucky to only lose temp files. The current installer is not safe if you need to set a custom extraction target because of space limitations in /tmp. This issue would be fixed by making the installer only muck around in a d...

Re: Unofficial Overgrowth a180, weekly build

PLEASE make the linux installer --target option use a subdirectory of the specified directory as the working directory. :| I did the mistake of pointing the target to my general temp dir in my home directory. When I noticed the installer started chowning my other files I knew something was off. I im...
