Re: Scars, anyone?

The key word here is morph targets. Well that's two words. Anyway, the point is character/texture deformation is possible without too much work (or so I read). So maybe it'll happen. Extremity loss seems... excessive, and would either need to cause loss of dexterity - which would punish people who d...

Re: Inventory System In OG

RE5 had a horrible inventory system. 12 boxes of shotgun ammo takes up the same amount of space as a single Green Herb? Also slots are terrible in general. Anyway, going WAAAAAAAAAAY back to when L2 first got announced, Wolfire wanted to go with a physics-based system. Having seen the backpacks in g...

Re: OMG WHAT IS THIS WOLFIRE???

People actually thought this was real

Oh man... I had a feeling it was a joke but I knew for sure when I saw "You’ll latch onto things so hard you’ll think you’ve bathed in super-glue."

Seriously though fuck April Fool's day. So many of the jokes were the exact opposite of funny :(

Re: :squeals with joy: Im sooo excited!! ^,...,^

DF defends itself. Crossbowdwarves are scary. People are allowed to say they think DF sucks. It's not true, but they can say it. It does have interface problems, and it's extremely daunting at first, but there's something... endearing about it. It's also not everyone's cup o' tea. @Ren: everyone suc...

Re: Bone Breaking

I remember something along these lines in older blog or forum posts.

Dunno if it's still happening, but I sure hope so.

Re: :squeals with joy: Im sooo excited!! ^,...,^

Hanging out on the DF forums a lot has taught me something: If a girl likes the game, she will sign up for the forums. If everyone is treated as being fairly gender-neutral, and receives no different treatment, then they'll stay. Seriously. DF forums has a large number of teh wimmenz. Nobody really ...

Re: My idea, better than any other

Wow, I'm surprised this didn't get locked.

Anyway, I'm happy with Aubrey's concept art. If the females in Overgrowth are like this, then I'll be happy. That priestess is so immediately identifiable as a female, it's almost scary.

Re: Weapons

Oh hells yes. I think all the way back when Overgrowth was still called Lugaru 2 (oooh, long time ago, that :P) David said we'd be able to break trees and use branches as weapons, so improvised weaponry is almost a must.

Wait, you're not the same Groveller from the DF forums, surely?

If so... well, welcome to the "real" Migrursut :P

Re: Why C:\Program Files\Wolfire Games\Overgrowth?

I called my C drive /dev/hda1. I take small pleasures in simple things. :P

Anyway, generally when a company installs to \VendorName\ApplicationName, they're planning on releasing many more games after that point. So don't complain, or they might change their minds...

Re: Inventory System In OG

Meh. I was watching Advent Children (shock!) and I saw Cloud pull out a bunch of swords from his bike holster thingies, and then grab the last sword and put it in a holster on his belt. Which, incidentally, probably wouldn't have restricted his movement too much, but it was a bit too low and a bit t...

Re: MacBook! Yeah! Solid Aluminium! I has one!

Linux ftw.

Meh, I like all three of the major OSes more or less equally. Apparently NetBSD is pretty good as well, but I haven't had time to go and figure it out.

Anyway, congrats on your new MacBook. May it serve you well.
