I agree with the above. Subtle changes in stance as clues to what both Turner and our opponents are going to do would not only be awesome visually, but could add a level of skill to reading our opponents. The more skilled opponents will give lesser or different clues - and may even mislead us (might...

Aww... I like the eye...

Oh well - as long as the general tone isn't vastly different I'm sure I won't complain :)

Not really. They make the plot much clearer and if done well can increase the drama of a scene - but they are in no way required for a fun game. Besides which - I think we will be getting cut-scene like dialogues in the game; I believe it was Jeff who said they are planning on a Broken Sword-esque c...

Sorry Sage! Didn't realise you'd posted that idea before :P Edit (on topic post - didn't want to double post): I think this was suggested or mentioned earlier - but I'm in favour of energy/strength instead of health as such. Your strength determines the speed and power of your blows/reversals - and ...

... I hope they can work out some kind of compromise for them. Like javalins. Longer range, more damage, but still comparable to the throwing knife from the original Lugaru. Seems like a good compromise to me. Plus you'd only realistically be carrying 2-3 at any time so you avoid the "I sit he...

...but since we hopefully will get model and animation formats that are useable in the usual 3D modeling apps, you should be able to build a chainsaw and release it as an additional cool weapon, rise to fame, wealth, eat a lot, get fat and explode, leaving lots of blood and guts behind (over-dramat...

I think the whole issue is sad :( In the end it all comes down to fear: Fear of death; fear of meaninglessness; fear of punishment; fear of self; fear of others. I suspect the original purpose of most early religions was to ties communities together and help them face these basic fears. If you look ...

I see my earlier rant has had a knock-on effect. Ace :) Personally I feel that for a game to claim RPG status it needs to give the player some kind of control over the plot direction. But thats just me I suppose. While Playing a Role is common in the majority of titles and doesn't really make any pa...

Sword of the Samurai? You can get the whole thing as abondonware for free on the internets :) You'll need DOSBox to run it though. Infact, cos I'm the generous type heres a link: http://www.abandonia.com/games/en/264/SwordofSamurai.htm I'd actually like to see some more games with this kind of simpl...

Ninja/Samurai games on PC that aren't really bad console ports. I seriously considering attempting to remake Sword of the Samurai as this is a gap I just don't see anyone even attempting to fill - Plus SotS is a fairly simple game and might actually be possible for me + one or two others if i can fi...

So long there is some kind of dodge/counter for every move I don't see any good reason not to have something like this make it into the game.

Wire-fu FTW! :D

Exactly. And about the whole honour thing... Both Japan and China operate on a system of shame - do whatever you like, but if people find out you'll be shamed. Don't think Samurai didn't do a whole host of dishonourable things - it was even expected! But if you got caught you had to own up and pay t...

They were solo warriors that didn't fight by the rules that feudal Japan had at those times. Warlords hired them for the dirty work, but when they were discovered and captured, the warlords denied any connection to them. They were often used to carry out assassination missions silently to decapitat...

I agree with that - being able to quickly drop or throw weaponry could be useful (especially with longer weapons; spears etc.) You could use a method similar to Hitman: Blood Money - tap drops, hold pulls back and release to throw. It was cool you could throw anything in that game :) EDIT I've been ...
