I don't think the rabbit culture would have spent their time developing a very advanced bow and arrow hunting method. First of all, they're vegetarians and farmers. Secondly, they [except for Turner] run first and fight wolves and other predators as a last option, and when they do they are usually ...

Thankyou for the reply that answers alot of questions I had about how you saw this working. Can I take it to mean that there will be 'downtime' for long journeys and the like or simply an assumed amount of eating and such? By downtime I mean something similar to the quicktravel option in oblivion or...

I've just noticed another (possible) advantage of having a hold/release control and thats reversing reversals. I see the flow as follows: Player A: Attack (Press Attack button) Player B: Defend (Hold Defend button) Player B: Reversal (Release Defend button just as attack lands) Player A: Escape (Hol...

*blinks* That does (sort of) bring up the topic of needs. I believe its been stated that some sort of basic needs will be present in the game - namely eating, drinking and sleeping if I remember correctly. I am an advocate both very for and against this kind of implementation. Do it well, integrate ...

Cremating people? Not to be entirely negative but if you've ever had a barbeque you'll know that burning meat is NOT the best way to hide it. It reeks. Unless you're fighting people with nassel trouble they'll SMELL the burning flesh and then discover charred'o'bunny. Probably making them Really-qui...

Good Idea, but...
Why not make it a hold and release function like reversing high kicks? If you press the key in time you will defend - but if you release it at the correct time you will counter/riposte, reverse or disarm (dependent on context of course). I just don't like the idea of having to double tap a key, and ...

Swept downstream?! Pulled under by the current? Thrown onto the riverbank a mile away, barely breathing :D Or maybe I'm getting over excited? Either way this sounds seriously cool Jeff :D I honestly can't wait to see how this all fits together. I only wish my own skills were upto scratch so I could ...

Wolf Skin!
Wolf-skin pelts! If you successfully kill a wolf (and have the appropriate knowledge) you may skin the kill. This of course has very interesting effects... Socially skinning would be considered outragous among any of the races I would assume (maybe not amongst the wolves but then again you're wearin...

Forced Repetion and Allowed Failure.
As someone mentioned above (sorry I'm not sure who) if we take the Fallout 2 route to open-ended gameplay then the player can 'fail' things. Actually I prefer the idea of no concrete successes or failures - only temporary victories or defeats (except for death, but thats a whole other issue which I ...

Re: To Hell With Your HUDS
In my opinion Lugaru's idea of removing a HUD was one of the most ingenious innovations in the Third Person gaming. It made things much more simplified and I'd hate to see L2 to go 2 steps backwards. I agree with Macdogg on this point. I'm not adverse to some minor HUD elements where they are unavo...

Cloth physics?! Thats quite some feat even above and beyond what you are already planning to achieve, at least real-time. I'm not saying it can't be done of course and what I've seen on here in the past few days (i discovered Lugaru and the Lugaru 2 Development after playing Black Shades from my PC ...
