How does removing the throw solve this problem?
If you (or your friend) can't win with the normal attacks then you won't win with the normal attacks, whether or not the throw is present. I'm clearly missing some logical step here.

Re: Unofficial alpha 111, weekly build
David : The script file fixes the error on loading, but when I put down some rabbit guards and tried to fight I got the error in the attached pic error.png . Pic text: Attack file "" could not be found. This was a straight dump & overwrite of the alpha's script folder with the one you...

Re: Unofficial alpha 111, weekly build
Same error on XP when attempting to spawn any character.
Also, the new level doesn't appear to be listed in the "pick a level" scroll on the alpha boot menu.

Re: Alpha 110 skipped
Thanks for letting us know Jeff, it's appreciated. To be honest, I'm hugely impressed how few weeks have been missed since this started over two years ago. I do have one question regarding the immediate plans for the combat model, can we expect a breadth or depth first model? By which I mean, are we...

Re: Unofficial alpha 109, weekly build
This is drifting a bit off topic now, but there are two things IMO that make AC too easy: The first is the health/sync system and the level of damage dealt meaning that often it takes 4-5 blows in relatively quick succession before you're in any real danger. The second is one that we see in lots of ...

Re: Unofficial alpha 109, weekly build
Fair point. I'll admit I was going from memory, but the impression I'd got was that whatever actions we end up with need to be discrete individual actions so that we get finer control of what we're doing and that David wanted to avoid anything similar to the one-move-beats-all in AC. Edit: I do thin...

Re: Unofficial alpha 109, weekly build
Actually, it's got more to do with discussions on the forums regarding the "lock in" of such methods, as seen in Assassin's Creed. David as written a fair bit talking about the down-side of double-time counters in games regarding both game balance and control so, given that there aren't an...

Re: Combat Mode
Turning off combat mode doesn't stop them moving up to opponents they've picked, so they'll still follow you around and try to stay in distance - but they won't actually attack.

Re: Unofficial alpha 109, weekly build
I don't think we're going to have explicit counter-attacks anymore, rather we will have to pick our own attacks TO counter (maybe with some contextual variation). At least that's how it seems currently. 'm wondering if it's worth making a distinction between opportunity attacks (i.e. holding the but...

Re: Movement suggestions
On a slightly related note, if you're knocked ragdoll and tap the crouch key (default shift) you'll recover in a roll, which is both quicker and looks smoother than waiting for the auto recover. I'd sort of like it if recovery depended on some form of input rather than an "auto-stand" so w...

Re: Unofficial alpha 109, weekly build
Thanks Ninjas , that seems to have done the trick :) Throws are huge fun :D and they seem to interrupt attacks acting as a counter-attack of sorts. I'll have to try them out versus multiple opponents, throws seem to do moderate damage but are fairly slow to actually complete, so that might make them...

Re: Dismemberment in Overgrowth
I'd love to see breaking arms and legs, teeth flying etc. perhaps even decapitation on a final blow, but nothing excessive. 0_0 What would you consider excessive? Bushido Blade had limb disablement and worked fairly well, but it wasn't nearly as fluid or fast as Lugaru/Overgrowth's current drafts. ...
