If you read most of the stuff about FarCry and Crysis they made it quite clear that High and Ultra-high were NOT for normal gaming machines, but for the absoulate top-end, and for future-proofing the games respectivally. The idea with the Crytek games is that they still look good 3-4 years later bec...

Thankyou for the update, David. If this is going to be a fairly short & linear affair, that does give you an opportunity to do things outside the Turner's story arc. Might be interesting to play out some of the moments mentioned in the first game - like the raids on villages and so on. Essential...

Teen angst defeated: Orange Box cures all!

And yes, Portal is the 3rd most awesome thing in existance. If I could marry the song at the end and have lots of little song babies then I would.

And then silence. I'm sorry if this has been mentioned (and I know that asking for updates is bad form) but is there a reason that there has been no news since July? I'm not asking or moan for an update - I'd just like to know the score if anyone happens to know. (And apologies if this is an inappro...

Tomb Raider: Angel of Darkness
- Mainly because it *could* have been good, but was so, so bad.

Bad games are just bad - but some, you can see the good idea behind them wanting to get out and its just soul destroying.

Maybe my opinion on the matter differs greatly from the commonly accepted norm, but - as I stated above - roleplaying is about putting yourself in someone elses shoes and making choices that best suit that situation. I agree entirely. Still, making minor choices along the way may not significantly ...

Are people aware that even a moderately fit person* can do cartwheels in plate armour? Its heavy, it does slow you down and it does restirct your movement; but not by much or else it would not have been worn! The biggest deal with armour really is stamina as its heavy and hot you will simply get tir...

Armor will really help against slashing attacks, but will have little effect on blunt impacts. The purpose of armor is to spread out impacts over a larger surface area, it can't actually weaken a blow. A helmet might protect your nose or eyes, but can't reduce blunt trauma to your neck and brain. M...

Zeitgeist The Movie

http://www.zeitgeistmovie.com/ Just wondering who (if anyone) has seen this and what people think. In particular I'm interested in feedback from the Americans amoung you as this is your government that this talks about specifically, but all thoughts and input are welcome. And if possible I'd like t...

Common? *shudders*

I'm more interested if modders would be able to get mounts working in their own creations or not - but I suppose in all honesty thats not answerable right now.

Given the detail being planned for the various aspects of the game I'd like to ask about how much we can expect weather to play a role in the game. I'm fairly certain that Jeff mentioned 3D flows being used for snow and rivers; but are we likely to need clothes if we head north into the Frozen Waste...

If we can't effect the plot it ain't an RPG. End of discussion. I'm not saying that L2 has to contain a branching story either (though I personally would perfer it if it did - even the original Lugaru had an alternative ending planned) I just feel that if you're going to let us run about and get inv...

Using coloured text ought to be a ban-able offence. Dawn of War is a much better game than the modern 40K wargame; they've killed off all the complexity and character, its just sad to be quite honest. Narratively speaking Warhammer is one of the strongest properties the UK games market owns. I'm gla...
