Re: OG on consoles?

The problem with going full-blown game is that you have to deal with the physical media -- getting discs pressed, packaging made, convincing stores to put the game (created by a no-name indie gaming company, a complete unknown) on their shelves...it's hard and a big risk. It is of course doable -- A...

Re: OG on consoles?

350MB is pretty dang sizable. The big thing that kills 3D games, size-wise, is textures, and this team's really not big enough to generate 300+MB of textures in the timeframe they're operating on. Unless, you know, they're totally gratuitous with their texture resolutions. Which I doubt they are. Th...

Re: Wolfire Development Blog - Part 3!

Ehh, depends on how "tribal" the creatures in Lugaru are. We really don't know much of anything about their culture yet, so we can't say if it's appropriate for them to decorate their weapons.

Re: Lugaru 2 is dead [aswell]

Key-based systems that use phone-home systems generally have keygen programs written for them instead of a list of known-good keys, precisely because of the problems you outlined. Or alternatively, the pirated version has been cracked to not phone home. Heh, it's funny -- a lot of very well-paid peo...

Re: Preorder Overgrowth!

Okay, secondary question -- for those of us who don't want to create Paypal accounts, is there some other way to preorder? An address we could send checks to or something? Edit: looks like the answer is "yes", though understandably Jeff doesn't want to share his address publicly. Thanks, Jeff! You c...

Re: Lugaru:Empire, Another Campaign!

The wolf in the garden is close to a "window", and one of the wolves is on the bridge. If you aren't able to stealth the first wolf on the right, there's another window nearby as well. I will admit I lured them close to the windows, initially with the thought of trying to reverse them out into the a...

Re: Overgrowth mod ideas?

I'm actually wondering what the feasibility of adding new weapons would be. Seems to me that if it were even possible in Lugaru 1 (which it isn't, to my knowledge), you'd need to create the following things: 1) Model of the weapon (including clean and bloodied textures) 2) Weapon stats (blunt/slashi...

Re: Lugaru:Empire, Another Campaign!

Here's my feedback, keeping in mind that I haven't yet finished it (I'm at the third Sky Palace level, so I should be pretty close to the end, though). * Some of the levels are difficult in what I found to be a not-very-fun way. In particular, I'm thinking of: ** Dante's hideout, where you have to m...

Re: Preorder Overgrowth!

My question is what systems people making preorders should have. Are you developing on all systems simultaneously or what? Obviously this affects how valuable access to the beta is -- early access isn't much good if you can't run the program. I'm on OSX myself, though I also have a Linux box availab...
