Steam refunds are probably a bigger problem for Indies. Up to 30% refund rates, including games bought months earlier - and at no cost to Valve since it goes to Steam Wallet and will, eventually, be turned into a purchase.

Steam's new return policy just came out too. The devs might lose quite a bit of their release sales to returns... I'm not sure how to feel about that. On one hand, people can return it if they don't like it... But, devs might lose a substantial portion of their "confirmed" sales afterwards...
