Re: Can we have Soft Particles ?

Seems like it would be fairly processor intensive though. The comments suggested a quick work-around by just overlaying the particles on top when z-fighting occurs.

Though if it's easy to implement, it does certainly look nice.

Re: Community pen and paper RPG project?

Horribly off topic, but whatever happened to those collaborative rpgs/stories back when Ragdollmaster hung around more often? Those were entertaining.

Re: DIS Blog

If you want more readers, you might update your website template. It's a little bland. Also you don't really have anything to show, or there are no links obviously placed that would catch the readers attention. Screenshots of interesting game scenarios (even if the graphics are crap, if the ideas ar...

Re: How to change ambient light?

http://blog.wolfire.com/2010/03/Image-based-ambient-lighting That blog post implies changing the skybox would change the ambient lights. Also, depending on if it's only created once or dynamically on every level load, you might be able to go and edit the processed image. "It's stored in a DXT1...

Re: Overweight characters and general body shapes

I think it would fit perfectly for a few Cat lords. Though I can't imagine them doing much moving.

If it is implemented they better apply soft bodies to them. :P

Re: Wordpress blog

Too colorful... looks like a movie interpretation of an acid trip. I don't think the pink one was meant to be the final. But for the 3rd image, it looks awesome! Not sure about text readability, since it's not up officially (at least not when I visit the link), but it looks like it'll be ...

Re: Wordpress blog

Certainly can't hurt to repost the tutorial, since I doubt many would have seen it already.

Looking good, though. Can't wait to see how the template turns out.

I really want to know how he got that metal pole stuck in his gut. But yeah, I agree with Wilbefast, it should be realistic, but not so much that we ruin gameplay.

Re: Wordpress blog

True, that is very interesting :? Now I feel terribly unoriginal. Maybe it's just because I go on like a broken record about all this stuff on the forums. Perhaps with practice I'll learn to be more interesting :| Something you might try would be to to use stumble upon for a few minutes and find so...

Re: Wordpress blog

Haha, to tell you the truth, I don't think I even looked at the sidebar. Not sure what that means. Probably because most wordpress/blogspot sidebars just have that useless "archive" widget that shows all the posts ever made. Here's a good example of something I found via stumbleupon ...

Re: Wordpress blog

Just as constructive criticism, I would finding more 'interesting' topics for the blog posts. That's not really the word I'm looking for, but the best blogs that I read generally posts things that are novel, innovative and make me think, "Huh. That makes sense". While the choices/problems ...

There are plenty of already developed spoiler tags that can be added into PHPBB. It might take an hour to get it setup.

Re: Overgrowth reminds me a bit of Zeno Clash

There's some resemblance, only in the fact that they both include fighting, but other than that the games are completely different.

Zeno Clash was alright, not my cup of tea, though.

Re: Modder Protection

The point still stands that it's your own fault for ruining the game if you open up a level in the editor. If you don't want to ruin the secrets, don't open it up! The easter eggs will eventually leak onto the forums anyways, so it's not really going to be much of a help to block out editor access. ...

Re: Game- ready model shops

If they're free, then that's great, but you'll never be able to release a good game by using generic models. The artistic style won't match, for one, but also it's usually easy to see when the game designer didn't put much work into the models. It's much better to befriend a 3d artist and pay them a...
