Re: Name that game

Why, that looks like Dig Dug meets Dungeon Keeper! It could only be 'Holy Invasion of Privacy, Badman? What did I do to deserve this?'.

Try this on for size:

Re: Black Ops is a poor quality game: A long winded hate spe

I was thinking about this earlier, and i thought, "Why not switch the kill and death streaks?" The trouble with that is, when you're a good team and you absolutely beat down on a bad team the game would provide an out that could be exploited in the same inevitable bad balancing issue as the 'blue s...

Re: Black Ops is a poor quality game: A long winded hate spe

That kind of design goes back to Counter-Strike though, with the idea of earning more money depending on how well you do. I remember games where I would be stuck just earning enough for an SMG or a Shotgun without any body armor when the other team would be fully kitted out with grenades and all man...

Re: Black Ops is a poor quality game: A long winded hate spe

See, Killstreaks in concept are interesting not for the reason that a single good player might be able to boost his whole team to a win by outperforming in a significant way but because a team that have organized themselves properly prior to the game, without any need for major feedback during the a...

Re: Black Ops is a poor quality game: A long winded hate spe

I believe that the multiplayer in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is the most legitimately imbalanced in the series and by 'legitimate' I mean without mods or hacks. Just by using the perks at your disposal, certain set ups can be quite abusive. Without knowing the game well it'd be very easy to miss...

Can I query what kind of audience a 'game jam' caters to?

Re: Anyone for Jam?

Don't single out two people. You yourself contributed to it aswell. Don't pin this all on us! :P Sorry if it seemed like I was passing the blame, I'm aware of my part; that's what I mean by 'seeded'. I helped start this discussion but I would rather we keep this thread on topic and move the new dis...

Re: Anyone for Jam?

Even you can see what a ridiculous comparison that is to make. Do you really have to add an "Even you" there? We've seen some particularly absurd quotes from your side of the internet when you lurch into flippancy, you can't win points for an inability to spot facetiousness. Anyway, Alpha troll or ...

Re: Anyone for Jam?

How are they big words? What relevance is it how I start my sentence? I'm not the one hiding the fact that I'm a geek. I'm sure you are like Batman, but really it just sounds like you're embarrassed of who you are. Just sayin'. That depends on your point of reference, really. I'm not embarrassed ab...

Re: Anyone for Jam?

Are you using your dual identities to mask some disaster that happened in your past? Perhaps you got almost all the way through an old video game before a thief came and shot your memory cards?

I find the geeks who can't quite come to terms with it are the more awkward brand.

Re: Anyone for Jam?

You know I think I'd love to venture further into Europe to taste the fine jams they have on offer. Perhaps some marmalade too. Of course, money is always something I'd worry about but I have some holiday pay saved up... It does make more sense for me to go to London... although the train would almo...

So... the new goal for this thread is to photoshop beards onto any unbearded images of John?
