Re: Obama won...

Bush illegally sent us into a nightmarish war, ruined our economy, destroyed our international relationships, messed up our educational system, held back important stem cell research, eliminated many of our basic constitutional rights, fumbled every crisis he was faced with, widened the gap between ...

Re: HELP!

I would recommend just doing a clean reinstall, and being more careful about what you download!

Re: procedural animations from lugaru 2

The animation in Overgrowth does not use machine learning techniques at all. I have experimented with that in the past and just found it to be not practical for what we are doing. It is all about automating traditional animation practices, like anticipation/response and squash and stretch. I am plan...

Re: IJI amazing free game

That game is really cool; it is a little bit like a sidescroller version of System Shock 2.

Grim Fandango was very good, if you can get past the dated controls.

Re: SPORE

[And yeah, most people I know who've got spore have commented on the lack of replayability for some reason (sounds illogical with such options, neh?), but I really can't say for myself 'cos I have no frikkin idea. x3 This is definitely one of its biggest failures. Most games with deep character cus...

Re: SPORE

I bought it at a store and put the disc in and installed it, and after it finished I tried to run it and it said the file was corrupted. So I tried reinstalling, and was faced with a big dialogue box saying, "You do not have an authorized copy of Spore," and then it quit. I messed around with my fir...

Re: SPORE

I thought the cell stage was really fun, and the creature stage was kind of fun, and the rest were really bland.

Re: Can Lugaru 2 Run on my 486 MHz Computer with 8MBs of Ram?

The requirements will be higher than Lugaru 1, but much lower than Crysis :) We are not far enough along to have a more specific answer to this.

Re: Lugaru 2?

Hey, that is no way to welcome people to the forum... it is not overdefensive to be worried about flaming if you immediately get flamed! We are going to do our best to release in the first quarter of 2009. However, since this our first game with this team, I am not confident in our ability to predic...

Re: procedural animation, 3D acoustics, and more

Euphoria is very different from what we are doing. As far as I can tell, there are two things that Euphoria can do. First, it makes falling people flail randomly and latch onto things with their magnetic hands. Second, it allows characters to be pushed and flail randomly to maintain balance. However...

Re: Overgrowth on Wikipedia

It's irrational and borderline insane to call me an asshole, to tell me to gtfo or to call me an idiot for posting the truth. I agree with this; I think we need to avoid insults when discussing things. However, given those facts, I disagree with the conclusion. I think there are some ethical issues...

Re: MMO/Multiplayer version for Overgrowth?

We are still thinking about what multiplayer options we would like to pursue. The initial Overgrowth game will focus on singleplayer, but if we can get solid multiplayer code in time then I would like to include co-op and deathmatch. It would be cool to make a massively multiplayer game, but we don'...
