Games and the books they are based on

I'm a curious modern entity known as a bookworm gamer. Novels and videogames are today my two primary artistic media that I get involved in. I'm just going to list a few here for sentiment. 1. The Witcher - I bought both the original set of short stories by Andrej Saprowski under the title of "The L...

Re: Anyone here program in TI_Basic?

Ah yeah. 5 years ago I used them. Nowadays I'm more used to this: Convolution: http://upload.wikimedia.org/math/6/4/c/64ca7a42511b5e54a54172e454b49c26.png Nyquist criterion: http://www.atp.ruhr-uni-bochum.de/rt1/syscontrol/img886.gif Oooooh! I don't know either of these; mainly because I'm a first ...

Re: Possible Additions for Next Receiver Build

Yo, alf666. When you enter a room that is tall, keep looking up and down for the killdrones. Know your environment. You have the advantage of the attack. Stand in the doorway and when you hear a beep, back away into the previous room (assuming you disabled all the killdrones in that room). Study you...

Actually, no. That isn't true.

It's m = n/M

mass(in grams) = number of moles/Molar mass(in moles per gram)

YouTube: Things as explained by cartoon birds

I just started a YouTube channel called CloudCuckooCountry where I am making semi-animated cartoons and I'd like some help with getting it off the ground. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x-EtqjnULok&feature=plcp The topic is a little sensitive, but I'm not meaning to purposefully offend anyone. If yo...

Lights clogging up the framerate

My copy of Receiver has a framerate that goes up and down like waves on the ocean tides and I was a little confused as to what was causing it. The graphics of Receiver aren't exactly straining on the hardware and it cannot be the AI code or the gun mechanics as I can get a buttery-smooth framerate s...

Re: 1911 thumb safety - dead giveaway

What if the gun didn't automatically tilt to the side to reveal the safety, but instead we had a key mapped that let the player tilt the gun to the side themselves to check. The player could use the help system to learn when the safety is on and off until they know the gun better and can tell entire...

Re: Word of advice for Receiver

Hello there, Stubbing my toe is enough to put me out of action, a flesh wound would probably incapacitate me. But, this is a game and so it's about the enjoyment factor for the end user and the sudden death factor has been ought up on this and other forums. It's great for some, for others it's a tu...

Re: Word of advice for Receiver

Have you ever been shot before? It is not something easily recovered from. Even if you don't die instantly you are pretty much screwed if:
A. You were shot in something vital.
B. You have no medical attention.
