Fish, birds and reptiles, lizards and snakes are non-sentient, AFAIK. They might be enough. In the Overgrowth comic there's a dog eating some kind of salami, which is normally made of pork and beef, if they aren't eating other civilized species,that implies that there are some kind of farm animals,...

Especially for rabbits, who are herbivores.

I wonder what do dogs and cats eat in Overgrowth, cats are carnivore and dogs omnivore, I guess fish could be an option but there has to be some mammals in their diet.

creating custom armor out of raw materials (raw as in metal and wood plates, leather wraps , etc...) There will be very little leather, for rather obvious reasons. Fish, reptile and bird skin could be used, but leather is still going to be much more rare than in most game worlds. I'll say it's quit...

That sounds nice, altough I guess you could just take the audio files of the game (of course when music is implemented), however it feels better having the non-ripped soundtrack.
