Well, TV hasn't replaced books.... at least not yet. 3d games can never let you roleplay, untill we get to full body input suite VR, but for now you are stuck with text games. Yes... But then we are somewhat 'spoiled' by eye-candy in modern games. You make it 3d or it won't sell. And then (I'm not ...

I believe he said $20 or $25, I could be wrong though. Life is so interesting. In my country (well, I didn't tell you that) you can buy, say, HL 2 in a regular shop (no underground) for $4. And 100% legal stuff - brand-new games in jewel-boxes - cost $5-10. [to be honest, these are the prices of PC...

Not realy, if its a text game trying to give the same things that 3d games give, it will be crappy. But there are things you can do with text that are i-m-p-o-s-s-i-b-l-e to do with 3d games. That's interesting. Could You name some besides... well... the fact that our imagination is still more powe...

Re: Macs

This is a common myth that Mac users like to tell themselves to make them feel better about their platform. I usually just demonstrate my relatively old PC effortlessly running 15 copies of Q3 at the same time, with the FPS perfectly distributed between each instance, and then check my email flawle...

But you were dead a thousand times, hopeless encounters won. A man long dead, grafted to machines their builders did not understand. Yours to manipulate, to destroy, to rebuild. Infinity sucked though, except for the vidmaster levels. Yeah, those black Pfhor were cool. Hell, I liked all three parts...

I am actually not at all interested in Pangea games - to be honest, I think they are good for certain audience and not bad at all. Price/quality ratio is other thing.

But guys, please, any more info on my topic?

Personally I would try and avoid anything that has anything to do with Pangea, for various reasons that I will not go into right now. In any case, I would post on the IDG forum asking for help porting the game to mac, and someone will probably volunteer to do it. Heh. I'm getting extremely interest...

Well, if he is willing to invest money I would suggest he get some O'Reilly books on the subject. If his games are written in OpenGL then porting becomes much easier, but if they are DirectX then they will have to be converted(a horrendous job). Books are not an option. After all, he is currently r...

Porting Windows Software (games) to Mac

Hi, everybody! The situation: My friend is working at a game-dev. company. A Russian one. He had no knowledge of Mac-programming or even using the Macintosh. But I got him interested. Now that is where I need help. I'm not a programmer. I don't know the ins and outs of Mac OS from developer's point ...

Now I've got that Gmail address. What to do next? I need someone to send me something to check its coolness or what? Or should I send myself my files to use it as a backup solution? (anyway, flickta@whatever-the-name-is is the right address, no matter what you type after @ :))

Oh well...

hey flickita, would you mind posting that map on the forum? i love playing this game, but since there are only 5 bots, it gets old fast. Does anyone have anything useful for this?? #HM#Razor7 I'd send it to you, cause there is no way I can post it here. SoS maps (as well as Lugaru's) have a strange...
