Because Open Source isn't a good idea for something like this. They also lack the legal resources to enforce any "pay for commercial use" clauses they would want in the license.

Your computer specs will help with debugging. Also, make sure you have the most recent version of your graphics driver installed.

The audio problem is known, just look around the forums a bit and you'll find the solution. As for the visual issue, try to see if there is a third-party driver available. Ubuntu is good to tell you if there is one. Also, listing your specs would help.

What still needs to be done before the engine is complete? To my uneducated eye, it seems almost complete, but I do remember hearing that the combat system isn't done.

Are there any plans to make Lugaru available on Steam? It would be a good way to get more money while waiting for Overgrowth to be finished.
