I've never had this happen before. . .

I was playing Challenege 13, and was fighting the first wolf and the first two rabbits. I disarmed a rabit, pegged the wolf with the knife, and then one of the rabbits pulled the knife out of the wolf's back; killing him :D

Unless you're using a computer with Java bitcode as its native language, then you still need to run that compiled bitcode through the JVM.
