This took me back to a different time. An excellent read. The dialogue keenly conveys a sense of each character. The record-like descriptions of The Subject were very convincing, as if they were drawn not from your imagination but from some dusty archive. Good writing indeed, sir.

Nice. How'd you mount your camera on it? We just used a metal piece with threading like what's on a tripod head and some nuts and washers. We use a tripod occasionally and often just go hand-held. We recently put together a fig rig out of PVC piping and it has helped a lot to get smooth movement shots. You can buy metal fig rigs but they're pretty expensive, so making a homemade one was a great, if a bit a shabby alternative.
