That sounds fairly roundabout when you can also just set voice_scale to 0 in-game. The other reason I do this is because the Steam chat settings sometimes take over other voice chat programs (depends on the game, Dawn of War II for example) and you'll hear yourself twice, once through Steam and onc...

The easiest way I've found to get around having to mute everyone in CS:GO is set the Steam mic to an unplugged microphone port, turn off the voice chat settings in CS:GO, and then set up voice chat with friends using something else like Discord, Mumble, or Razer.

Guys, stop reporting new people who are asking how to get Overgrowth working, when its going to be finished, or anything along those lines.
