Re: Can we have Soft Particles ?

Hmm, I wonder if you could write a shader which fades down the alpha the closer its target pixels z value is to its?

Can fragment shaders access that?

Re: Can we have Soft Particles ?

If the method in the video is actually checking how close each pixel is to geometry then thats just not going to work at all, if its only done with *smaller* particles then it might be possible to implement, but it would be nigh impractical for a runtime engine.

I wasn't saying that it was out of bounds for discussion - anything but that, I'm putting my opinion out there in the interest to find others.

@capn.lee

Does the name of the thread have to be my particular view?
Or can it just be the subject?

Re: Modder Protection

I don't really want a massive spoiler block, in fact I'm not even talking about spoilers at all. I'm referring to fun stuff, like a birthday cake addressed to whaleman in a village, which only appears when you complete certain conditions, ect. Wolfire leaves the community to find them all, then afte...

Re: Modder Protection

Here is the only thing I propose: In an attempt to hide various hidden elements of the game, for the first month of its development the campaign is either entirely encrypted or partially encrypted. After this period, wolfire release a decryption key. Wolfire could make it out as a competition, see w...

Re: Modder Protection

I suppose it just makes it more of a mystery, even if you don't explore them yourself you know that theres nothing new, otherwise it would have been in the forums.

Re: Modder Protection

But it might give us game players a bit of time to solve some puzzles. After a month or something, wolfire can realise the decryption key.

EDIT

I'm sure wolfire could do better then days.
