Re: procedural animation, 3D acoustics, and more
let's not forget there will be eye candy. they're marketing to everyone and I hope it's successful. I do expect the game to look nice, but nice does not necessarily mean high poly-count. I think they're going to have a reasonable medium here, and will be doing quite a lot with shaders, judgeing fro...
Re: Fan Art
Im not very happy with the bear....but i like this much more than the other. Nice! Regarding the bear, I think some the problems your having are from drawing him face-on, if he were slightly turned it would make it much easier to show depth and he wouldn't seem to flatten out as much. Som...
Re: Fan Art
:D Thanks! I'm trying to draw at least a little each day. Whenever I go for too long without drawing I notice my skills start slipping. Looking forward to that bear. OMG! I love that Feline! (Squirls cool too, but im crazy about cats) Can you give me any tips on Drawing Anthros? I use alot of refere...
Re: Fan Art
I think the color helps.
Even if the rabbit on the left sux, there's still the rabbit army on the hill! The wolf is totally screwed.

Re: so i'm really freakin addicted to metal...
Most of the metal I know are from pretty long ago: Aomebix, Corrosion of Conformity, Eye Hate God, Buzzoven, Sleep, St. Vitus, Bruheria, Spazz, Romantic Gorilla, Pussy Galore, Zero Hour, Cattle Press... I guess some of these aren't purely metal. In that regard, I always have to return to the classic...

Re: Overgrowth mod ideas?
To do something myself I would need to start real simple. Maybe just trying to create some new levels with the already available assets. I think having some easter eggs might be cool. Maybe a "don't throw me in the briar patch" and a "tar rabbit" level. If I could do the modeling...

Re: procedural animation, 3D acoustics, and more
Yeah, Lugaru was incredibly responsive even on my old clunker of a PC. It was probably the single thing I liked best about the game. They made speed and response the most important thing and did not sacrifice it for anything else.

Re: procedural animation, 3D acoustics, and more
okay, thanks ozymandias, checking a bunch of the links from the wiki helped give me a better feel for the difference as well. As for the collapsing building thing I was looking at this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wpBUiZfnEu4 and comparing it to this one from the phoenix engine: http://www....

Re: procedural animation, 3D acoustics, and more
Interesting. @ David, your explanation of the difference only makes me more confused. :? Not being critical, just trying to figure out what to expect. It would be pretty awesome to be able to rabbit/wall kick up a building collapsing down. All those overgrown different angled unstable slabs of concr...

Yes, that is the one I was referring to. I've been looking around at some of the you-tube videos he has posted as well. phoenix rigid body physics: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=alpqPtOG8Zk skeletal animation: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TOcuKSO-PBM this procedural animation demo: http://www.you...

Re: Wall Jumping
I just finished reading a RPS article on "verticality", before looking at this thread:
http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2008/09 ... #more-3276
Its in relation to a game called Damnation which looks okay. It would be a lot cooler with Rabbits.

I like the t-shirt idea best.
Re: Fan Art
Thanks! I'll give it a try. Currently, I teach art to elementary kids. :) It's a good job, pays fairly decent (not an easy thing to find) and I think I'm a better teacher than I am an artist. That said I spend a ridiculous amount of time thinking about video games, and would love to do concept art p...
Re: Fan Art
Thanks all! I can't wait to get this thing shaded! I'm also considering trying to photoshop my first picture, but I'm not sure that I can do that without it looking obvious that I did most of it on paper and then one part in photoshop.
