So yeah, it's on the horizon, but there may very well be other games in-between Overgrowth and a Black Shades 2David wrote:Black Shades 2 is definitely on the list of games I would like to make.
Unfortunately, it is not a short list.

Re: Cold bloods!
I read the thread title as "Cake bloods!" for some reason. I was dissapointed. The name of the thread is 'Cake Bloods' But nobody likes cold cake, so that's no fun. :P Really? Cake, at least here in the U.S., is oftentimes room temperature or cooler, though the sound of hot cake d...

Re: [Mac] Playing online? Here's an Applescript to get your IP
There's no need for that Skofo. If you're going to be critical, at least be respectful while you're at it. If you'd read some of the posts here, you'd know that there's a copy function in the app that can be executed with a single keystroke. If you think about it, an app is much quicker than going t...

Good work Modfox, this will come in handy, especially the 'copy' feature

Re: Future Game Ideas
Black Shades 2? Hell yes! If, as Vengence said, the game could actually look like that, it would be incredibly awesome. It's also great what you did with the faces: if there were to be a Black Shades 2, I was hoping it could somehow stay faithful to the original in some way, but I was having an impo...

Re: John's Castle, First Draft
I know how you feel man. My main computer is a formerly high-end Power Mac G5 Quad, which, sadly, is PPC. The only Intel machine in the house is one of the earlier MacBooks, 2 GHz, 2 GB RAM, using an integrated graphics card. With shaders on it runs at 1-2 FPS, and without shaders the FPS is around ...

Way back in 2006, Jeff said the following here : Lugaru 2 is going to have an incredible map maker. Check out my work on PhoenixUI: http://blog.wolfire.com/?p=46 You are basically going to have an OS level GUI working with you in the game, so you will have palettes, popup menus, and other useful too...

Re: John's Castle, First Draft
It's become very apparent from what we've seen so far that there are going to be some incredible things coming in the mapmaking department, both from the devs and the community
And yeah, I concur with Ozy on the massive scale of the structure, though it must have been awesome to fly up

Re: Issues w/ startup
I get that shaders message on the Mac version as well on one of the older MacBooks when the shaders are turned off: Overgrowth isn't yet very optimized, so running without shaders can cause problems — for me the sky is black, the ground is multicolor, and only a few objects show :P As for the proble...

which could ruin the game for the rest of the players :? How so? Ah, I had a feeling I should have elaborated :D Anyway, say you're in the middle of a game, and some madman decides to run off into infinite and never come back. What to do then? If there aren't any team markers, it would be impossibl...

Re: Invisible walls
If the 'endless staircase' idea isn't viable, and water can be implemented, even as a basic ocean perimeter, I'm all for the whaleman ... imagine a new player's surprise when they reach the edge of the map, start descending into the water (which would slowly ramp downwards), and then out of nowhere,...

Re: Invisible walls
that actually would probably be harder to do (from a time PoV) than "walls" Good point, there's probably a fair amount of coding that would have to go into that. A step down from this could be something similar to that in Mario 64 with the 'endless staircase' where you could run forever, ...
