sometimes adding a bit of blur(1 or 2 pixel size) and then taking the contrast up again can help you get rid of the small dots. i often use the color curves rather than contrast tool because it shows you a diagramm in the background that shows in which brightness area you have a lot of colors /pixel...

as far as i remember it the front kick does less damage than p.e. a high kick but is harder to counter or evade as the windup is shorter. therefore it seemed quite balanced to me, id have to check the script though to confirm that.
