Re: Games with interesting Combat Mechanics
That Batman Joker gameplay video looked rather meh. The enemies weren't even doing anything 95% of the time, they were just standing around waiting to be hit. Real cops would go football on his ass. Assassin's Creed does a similar thing. So does Lugaru, unfortunately, but not as much as the other tw...

Re: RPG Mod
I don't understand why you keep calling it a "small OpenGL engine", as if the fact that it is OpenGL makes it somehow less impressive. Do you even know what you are talking about when you say that? I definitely wouldn't call the Phoenix Engine "very, very basic" compared to even ...

Re: RPG Mod
Any MMO takes years and years and years and years of development. I know some Game Maker/BYOND/MUD/web/South Korean developers who would disagree with you. Remember that Runescape was started by one dude in his spare time and has grown into one of the greatest MMORPGs in history. It is not more cha...

If you're on Windows, perhaps you'd be interested in Free Download Manager. http://www.freedownloadmanager.org/
Better than it sounds. It establishes multiple connections with whatever you're downloading to download faster.

Re: Procedural Attacks
Skofo knows his stuff. Would you expect any less from a batman-pikachu hybrid? I still like my idea better, because it's mine and my ideas are generally better than anyone else's. No, I'm not a narcissist - you'd like you too if you were this awesome, I can't help it. I'm sorry if you have an issue...

Re: Procedural Attacks
But with toribash you're telling the character to move specific joins. The argument is that because of that fact, Toribash is not 100% procedural. As long as a game accepts any user input, it is not 100% procedural. But it is always above 0% procedural. So the real question is: what point inbetween...

Re: Procedural Attacks
Lugaru's combat system is procedural. The attacks adjust to the positions of the opponents. Also, I don't think that making characters attack in a "non-predefined" way is possible. No game/simulation is 100% procedural. Ah the joys of Toribash. Fully procedural. Toribash is not 100% proce...

Re: Rabbit model and grass shader
From what I may recall, that version of Overgrowth was made without all of the lower level non-graphical parts that we have today like the level editor and UI and everything. It's advantageous to build it up correctly from the bottom instead of going back down and adding more low-level things which ...
