Re: Who is your favorite game developer?

I have gotten interested in Russian developers recently. It seems like they are making actual computer games instead of trying to make something that is cross platform with consoles. The game I am playing now is called Men of War and the length and depth of the game are just ridiculous. [edit] Forgo...

Re: Unofficial, alpha 25 weekly build

I have Vista 64 and I use it every day. Maybe you have to set it to administrator mode or something to make it run?

Re: Overgrowth concept art compilation video

Man, that is cool! I haven't even looked at some of that old stuff in a long time-- the rat hut and town for example, or the rat elder.

Re: Request to Aubrey

You art is looking pretty awesome! I think the main thing to ask is if you are using a mouse of a tablet? Painting with the mouse took me 8-10 times longer for the same basic results.

Re: new OverGrowth editor feature idea - Lock grid

Hammer has had 13 years of development. Our tools have had about 6 months. Also Hammer is supported by Valve. They are a little bit bigger than us. We are going to keep working on the editor to make it better. We are going to be adding lots of cool features like an animation editor, rigging editor, ...

Re: new OverGrowth editor feature idea - Lock grid

But I tried it this way. I pushed the object away, then put the camera in the right place (the viewing direction parallel to the plane where I want the object's side to be), then pulled the object. Then I did the same to those two other axis. It took me 1 minute to align one block to another and ev...

Re: new OverGrowth editor feature idea - Lock grid

What can I say, other than I have actually built levels as a level designer using modeler assets on commercial products, and have made modular assets before, and what you are saying won't work in practice any better than what is already in the editor. The assets are not designed to to fit next to ea...

Re: new OverGrowth editor feature idea - Lock grid

For this to work like you guys imagine I would have to make all the models fit the grid ahead of time, which is kind of a pain, and certainly not true of the existing assets. There are not really supposed to be straight lines and 90 degree angles in Overgrowth so I barely ever snap things to a grid ...

Re: Unofficial, alpha 23 weekly build

The AO is set to low quality now so that it renders faster-- the shadow bleeding on the blocks is not there on higher quality levels.

Re: Preorder newbie question

That is the content we have in the alpha right now but there is a lot more on the way. Thanks for buying Overgrowth! I think the game is going to be really awesome, but it takes a lot of time and hard work to get everything working and in the game. Right now we are focusing on the UI for the level e...

Re: my blender stuff

Hey BloodShard,
Looks like you could use some more edge loops along the blade and handle of the katana to smooth out the kinks a bit more. Nice work!

You should check out http://boards.polycount.net/forumdisplay.php?f=42 if you want serious feedback on art.
