Re: Fan Art

Here's a picture I made. It's not really for this game, I made it to visualize my prophet in a Dominions 3 session. (in case someone here plays Dom3 it's a LA R'lyeh starspawn prophet with unequal obesity) Anyways, I thought it could serve as inspiration for a race of squidmen. In case they implemen...

Re: On the subject of rat feet...

Good catch.

Different feet positions helps distinguishing the races of the game, and they ARE going for a realistic look. So it makes sense design wise. The first rat model is also yet to be made, so there's no excuse not to get it right.

Re: Grabbing

No opinion about the ragdoll+grab thingy. However it would be awesome to be able to drag bodies away into hiding after you killed them, not to alert other enemies walking by. Likewise enemies should be alerted if they find a dead body, cry for help(not run to fetch like in Lugaru) and start searchin...

Re: Fighting/Ninja Moves

If there are levels where you need to fool guards you're one of the general crowd or such, walking could be used as less alerting while sneaking or running identifies you as a suspicious character. I have no idea if the gameplay will be that complex though. Anyway, having a walk/run switch is a very...

Re: Screen capture software better than fraps?

What about Snapz pro? http://www.ambrosiasw.com/utilities/snapzprox/ Maybe it's only for mac, don't know what os you have. I use it myself in my professional work as a film editing teacher, I love it! You can output any professional and popular consumer format, as well as record designated parts of ...

Re: Revisiting multiplayer

I would really like to know if the devs think that competitive multiplayer (players actually fighting each other) is possible, and if they are planning to implement it.

It would be nice to kill that question off so we can either drop that expectation or count on it.

Re: Pathetic incompetence - the Wolfire story, too?

I do see a small risk actually, especially in the graphics department (excuse me Aubrey). While I think the engine, the effects, the animation etc seems to be on the right track. I still find the character models presented a bit lacking. What worries me is the risk that the final Turner will look al...

Re: Unofficial alpha 93, weekly build

I seem to have run into a little problem http://i.imgur.com/TQpPq.jpg as you can see the camera has gone thermal, Robbert seems to have gone on an unnecessary diet (It's worse when he jumps) and his shadow shows the most ungodly Frankenstein of rabbity demons stuck with in his odd body (its got a c...

Re: Irritations and Failures in comparable games

Quicksaves can make the game too easy.

I like how it is in Max payne in the hardest difficulty, when you get like only 3 saves per level and has to choose when to use the wisely.

Re: Petition for the Phoenix Engine

From what I've seen of Wolfires reasoning they're nice folks who like to support other indie developers when they can. So my guess is that if you really have a serious project going on and wants to use the engine somehow, you'll find those guys reasonable. I think it is more a question of actually g...
