Re: Overgrowth Gameplay Difficulty Relative To Lugaru
Well, there were difficulty levels in Lugaru. I started on easy and it was fine, then did a playthrough of each higher difficulty in succession. The experience made it possible to succeed greater challenges; if I'd started on Insane? I would not have stood a chance. (Actually, I think I did, and mis...

Re: Level desinger question
You could certainly try - why not? We did that in gmod even, which was just a sandbox game.

Re: Level desinger question
You could certainly make a transparent object for the player to collide with, but it would be out of place if you just did it like Lugaru. DM levels the players might get out of are traditionally designed to guide them along accessible paths, relying only on invisible barriers to keep clever players...

Re: My idea, better than any other
I dunno. If Aubrey's giving female anthropomorphic animals protruding breasts, I expect to see some nipples. In a perfectly natural, non-pornographic, non-smutty way. Unless of course in gaining medieval sentience these animals grew prudish. Barbaric dogs would be more frightening ragged and bare-ch...

Re: Why There Absolutely Can Not be a Mouse Faction
I love Redwall, but encourage the Lugaru series to remain its own, yeah. It's definitely headed down a much more mature and gritty path than children's books (even if they had a tendency for being somewhat dark). That said, badgers and otters as in Jacques' novels modded into Overgrowth? Hell yes.

Re: My idea, better than any other
My point was to just keep it animalistic; the less human traits, the better. Feasibly, rabbits that evolve to walk upright and talk and wear clothing would probably develop humanoid things like that. However, these traits do not fit within the modern perception of rabbits—rabbits don't have any of t...

Re: Hardcore Modding
Not apparently, when all you see are guns at a place like that. Guns are a lot different than characters and animals. That's just what I see though... :\ Maybe you meant hardcore like hardcore porn. In which case, eh. Nudity + melee combat sounds like an interestingly visceral combination (this is s...

Re: My idea, better than any other
A slightly more pronounced or fluffy chest region would be enough to emulate the effect of boobs. Who needs physically malleable mammaries? The only case where fat or swollen bodies would seem necessary is in an elder rabbit. I would assume most the other rabbits are off being warriors or farming or...

Re: Hardcore Modding
I think hardcore would be going so far as to create an RTS with the mod engine, which is something I'm curious to know the possibility of. I have this inkling feeling such a thing will become possible, with the flexible UI and scripting. I wouldn't really bet on animations myself, but that's because...

Re: My idea, better than any other
If female models become necessary, my vote goes towards having them look exactly like the male model but with slightly more slender features to depict the natural skeletal differences between male and female humans. Other human attributes need not really be included, in my opinion, as gender can be ...

Re: Secret alpha 5 models
Haah, yes, that buckler is the first asset I sent to Aubrey. It was not intended to be committed, but slipped through! Weeks ago, too, which makes it pretty funny it got included in A5. The normal map isn't working correctly because it appears to have up-to-date texture files but not an up-to-date m...
