General artwork thread *wooo*
Re: General artwork thread *wooo*
My deviant art page. With all my ugly drawings. These are the first i've ever really done in hand with an actual pencil. And it didn't go too well http://kichigai-kuma.deviantart.com/gallery/

http://www.posemaniacs.com has a tool called "hand viewer". It lets you choose a hand pose, and gives you a 3D-model of a hand in the pose. Then you can rotate the hand to match the position you want to draw it in. It's a great resource. There are 20 different hand positions, and three test models. I won't link to the tool directly as the first test model, and the one that's loaded when you first load the hand viewer, is a physically accurate model of a male torso and some people might find even virtual nudity offensive.Karan Vess wrote:Hands don't like me...

Not really artwork, but I feel I have to put them onto here...
I'm trying to work on some "shoop" pictures. But I can't seem to get the laser beams right...
I use GIMP, and paint for some things, but I don't really knwo how to use GIMP that much, I can only really do transparency...
EDIT: I'm afraid this is the best I can do with shooping. (it's nixon by the way )

It's actually pretty easy to use gimp You can do some really neat easy things if you know the tricks for it.
Twenty second edit of Wolfire's logo. But it was much enjoyed.

Indigo did you mouse drew that with gimp or used figures to help? I tried making illustations for a comicbook i wrote, but hand drawing does not go into mouse drawing that well for me. Also, graphic tablets are expensive just to use it for a non-profit comicbook.Indigo wrote:It's actually pretty easy to use gimp You can do some really neat easy things if you know the tricks for it.

I'm so sorry. But this was an edit of the actual logo. Even i couldn't get it so precise.
If you like drawing in hand, i suggest you get one of those Fancy Bamboo brand tablets for your pc.
I taught my self to draw with the mouse though. And all it takes is practice.
Edit: I suggest you get familiar with the Inking tool in gimp. And use shift alot when you draw. It helps alot. When i get home i'll post an example.

Re: General artwork thread *wooo*
you can make a cheap graphic tablet using a webcam, box, glass, and sheet of paper, as well as some free software, I'm sure you could find that if you looked, not sure if you have a webcam or anything though so that might be useless information.
Re: General artwork thread *wooo*
That sounds interesting. But wouldn't the webcam need a high performance ?
