I must say I see your point in a way. He's not really a bad guy, and usually has a sense of humour about things (although making jokes is not always a good thing), if for taking some things slightly to heart.

To be honest I think you were just as suspect as him of encouraging arguments etc., so you can't really take shots at him for something you yourself are guilty of.
