Sounds more like a parenting problem to me. I can't fathom what his parents are thinking, if they're giving him their tax benefits.

Blerg. Well, I know he really is getting this money, but I don't know for sure where he is getting it from. I don't see any reason to lie about it, unless he is getting the money from an illegal source (I highly doubt that). It doesn't really make sense to tell people he is getting the money from your child tax benefit if it isn't true. It is not exactly the type of thing you want people to know. But I don't know, I might be wrong.
