recently in my tiny town called valencia, a pedo-perv has been active. he hacks into girls(usually underage) facebooks and emails. searches for nudes(if he doesn't already have them by some odd means), and uses an internet phone/text service to blackmail the said girls into sending him more nudes. if they don't comply he send their nudes too everyone on their friends list on facebook.

so far he has done this maneuver to about 30 girls, all from my old high school. at first i really didn't give a shit, but then he targeted my sweetheart little 17 year old drummer from my band.

what makes this bastard hard to track is:

he either uses pre paid cell phones (like a drug dealer! haha) or an internet phone service

only uses hacked emails and facebooks for distributing obtained nudes

the only lead anyone really has is:

he only gets girls from one highschool


so this pretty much narrows down the possibilities. it's either a student with the ability to hack. or it's some old creeper who likes himself some young tittays.



DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY IDEAS UPON TRACKING THIS GUY DOWN? is their any way to pinpoint an IP or something of the sort?

any help would be appreciated. thanks!

not that finding him through the computer isn't an awesome idea, but it might mess up the case for the prosecutors if there's interference from hackers.

otoh, the cops might be pretty stoked for a bit of extra help.

Police should be able to get info from Facebook crew, but they'll need to present them with a list of victims. The more accounts' information they have, the easier it will be to nail down the recurring IP addresses. All victims might not want to speak about this in public, so the collection of information should be carried voluntarily and straight to the police.

Demand action from the police, not as a single person, but as a representative of several victims. If you're not legally adult, have someone else do the demands. Contact police. Ask if they have the know-how to catch an online-only criminal, and tell them to ask for help if they don't.

That's about it, as far as the investigation goes. There are police officers who know these things better than you or me, you should just make sure they have one of the guys working on the case. This is a police matter, and there should be no vigilante detective actions. If anything, you need to consider the feelings of the victims. I think they're most afraid of the pictures being spread around and copied away and reposted all around the internet. Preventing that should be the most important thing right now. Some sort of gentleman's agreement of "if any pictures get spread around, everyone will delete them without making copies of them" might work. Hopefully everyone's already thinking like that, but explicitly mentioning it will make even the "no one will ever know" guys and gals hopefully have second thoughts about that.

hahaha I can't really help though you can see if the guy were active on your account what operating system and browser he was using and when he logged on, though don't really know how that would help. in any case this is exactly the kind of person I wish I could catch and beat to death.

If I may make a suggestion, I think you should make a GUI interface in Visual Basic and use it to track his IP address.

All silliness aside, this sounds more like a matter for the police. Or 4chan. Those guys love tracking down pedos.

Don't go to 4chan. Their ethical behavior changes as much as their mood.

If they think that you are trying to get them to do your dirty work they will just insult you, or worse

worst case scenario they will target you if you reveal too much information about yourself for them to "get on a trail".

I guess the best case scenario is that they do actually help you, but i doubt they wouldn't do it for a price.

To be honest, I doubt you'll get anywhere. If this guy is a hacker he'll undoubtedly use a VPN or an SSH proxy. Meaning his IP will be masked.

The only thing I can think of is social engineering him into trying to meet one of the girls a la to catch a predator. Make him an offer too good to pass up.

I think that its probably some kid from the high school.

Some old pervert would most likely target multiple schools.
