Hammerfight

Man, once I got Hammerfight figured out, that is the most fun I've had in a game in a long time.

Yeah, it's great fun. Quite difficult, though.
I find it challenging already at "Normal" difficulty.

It was just frustratingly hard at the beginning. Once I got a nice heavy weapon and gun, and got to the tournament phase, it got easier.

I just can't seem to beat the level in which the bad guys invade, and we are to defend a base.

I get wrecked, every time.

You mean early on? After you have to defend the worm balloon from the night monster thing?

yeah it is pretty tough at the start since you have that shitty rock on chain weapon. that level was kinda a bitch, but i plowed through by using my team mates help. that and successful hits were they KEY to victory. once you get into overkill mode the rest of that level is CAKE.

Wut? My "team mates" performed mass-seppuku at the Level start. If not, they flew in to the rock wall and died. Perhaps they got one or two of the oncoming force, never more than that.

I don't have the time nor the resources for victory.

This may be a bit late but the key I found to that level was staying at the top of the fight and taking potshots at enemies that got close. Don't complain, I have to knock explosive barrels at a fire monster robot to stun it. But I only get one barrel.

I beat the living hell out of my keyboard in the first few hours of the game, but when I completed the story once I about mastered the whole game to start a new campaign, choosing all the harder options. Once you unlock Grim the game becomes so much easier! (because of all the gems you can collect).
Now I'm still trying to get into Level 30 of the tournament, hard as hell.
My favorite outfit so far is either the Collosus or the Steel Whip (both with Topaz) combined with either the Whisper (arquebus) or a sharp sword with a ghost gem embedded. The Collosus is just a killer flail, both sharp and giving a good blow.

I accidentally lost my only ghost sword during Grim when I wanted to pick up some gems and now it's gone from the Hall... *sad face*

That's just charlie foxtrot... a game like this requires a vast arsenal of flails, guns and swords. (yes, you got me, I can't be bothered by axes or hammers (ie they suck))
