Wait, how is that ontopic? Should we instead talk about how David Belle must have really thick skin for rolling after such high jumps on gravel(and the similar) without a shirt on? Or should we discuss cliche phrases that make no sense, such as "I could care less," which has the intent of saying you don't care, but instead it says that there are things less careable about, meaning you do care, giving a completely opposite meaning to what it was that was meant to be said. Also "You can say that again," which practically says nothing except the fact that you are able to speak.

Or calling someone a stubborn ass. Stubborness shows dedication and commitment and what animal do people most often use for work? The ass. And why? Because it's tough, reliable, and a hard worker. So, by my logic, Endoperez is our resident ass, while David is a super ass and Aubrey is ninja ass. Jeff's the web ass, and John's is the kilt wearing ass. I'm the lazy ass, which is a contradiction in terms.

The phrase "I could care less" is a mutation of "I couldn't care less". the saying either mutated when someone missheard it and repeated what they thought they heard without thinking much about it or it got filtered through someone incredibly dumb with a horrible accent.

Or perhaps it was originally bitter sarcasm that somehow lost its sarcastic weight over time.

Stubbornness in farm animals isn't a good trait. My uncle's horse is horrible at this. Somedays he indifferent to letting you ride him and other days he won't let you get near him with a saddle. Either way you don't have a chance unless you bribe him with corn meal

Anywho, trying to get an ass to work when it doesn't want to is ... really really fucking hard.

You pretty much have to break the animal very thoroughly and reward it frequently for work completed if you want the work done.

Which is a good reason for the saying to die. Then it can go crawl in a hole. Which also doesn't give the intended meaning since it really means crawling around in a hole, instead of crawling into a hole.

Why not just say the phrase properly and replace "could" with "couldn't"?

This linguistic mutation is the same sort that makes people say "literally" when they mean "figuratively".

Somehow the meaning isn't lost even though the exact opposite of what they meant is said. So in the end, it doesn't really matter that much either way you say it.

Not many people have, it's more that many people have probably wanted to at one time (hunting or whatever)

The saying is an analogy designed to describe the concept of working towards two goals simultaneously using a smart solution rather than both goals individually. In the end, it tends to save time.

Conflict between users

The key to possibly winning (but never losing) a conflict is to never take the defensive position. It will only be a signal to your opposition that their comment was effective.

Rather than taking up a defensive position of denial or correction, you should instead shrug off the comment and take up the offensive by either insulting them back with a beautifully crafted quip or simply by trying to make them suddenly feel uncomfortable.
