Jacktheawesome wrote:Hm...well you might be mixing it up with Freerunning a bit there... Parkour's only purpose is to be useful. It is used to train soldiers and firefighters. If a building was on fire, or you were running from something, or you needed to get to someplace high, it would help you do that. It's not necessarily something where once you learn it you just do it all the time (although why not, fuck stairs). Also, the philosophy of overcoming obstacles is as much mental as physical. It's a lot deeper than most people think.
I call bullshit.
In either case (firefighter or soldier) you're gonna be carrying at least 40 to 50 lbs of gear with you. even in action scenarios your rifle alone weighs roughly 20lbs.
Medics and artillerymen will actually carry around over 100 lbs of equipment.
You wont be very light on your feet.

Shush, I thought the same, just let it go over your head, I found solace in the end of it though, just laughed a bit and moved on.

You may not be doing the same sort of Parkour as David was in the video, but Parkour is about overcoming all sorts of obstacles. Even if those obstacles are part of your body, or apparel. The facts are correct; I did an extensive year-long project on Parkour. I know my shit. Here's a link.

So I read a lot of that WIkipedia page. I decided to make a little change.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Parkour#Popular_culture
Read the fourth paragraph of that section (Popular Culture). Think the change will be edited out by Wikipedia staff?

HAH. +1 for wiki-advertising. You know this will catch on with game companies
The staff won't even notice it. I thought you like added "also, fuck stairs" to some part of it.

I had a feeling it would have been something like that. Did you add "wolfire.com" to the sources?!

Oh no. I didn't edit the sources, but the word "Overgrowth" links to the OG wiki page. Which links to the Wolfire web page somewhere on it. I should add it to the sources though.
