i was making the third (is it third?) tier on my special project and thats how big the base needs to be.
That's a circle, each square represents a block that needs to be placed.

Freshbite.
Some guy called InfernalArrow did this:
That castle represents probably a good 12-16 hours of work. Needless to say I'm done until you can guarantee shit like this doesn't happen.

I was just about to post this. I saw the server had one inhabitant (literally like 5 minutes ago), logged on, saw "InfernalArrow left the game." I checked around, and the only things damaged are the buildings Bryan pictured, but that's a big loss, especially Laputa. He's right Viktor, there are subtle plugins to prevent and remedy things like this that really are necessary in this age of server douchebaggery.
EDIT: He keeps coming back. I just caught him now, and even more of Laputa is missing.
EDIT EDIT: Steenie and I have been doing the best repair job we can on the parts that are obvious or that we remember. We've completely rebuilt the top portion so far:
Steenie's working on the bottom half as I write.
EDIT EDIT EDIT: I'm going to bed now, but we mostly reconstructed the middle roof:

I will see what I can do.
The server will be shutdown today while I work some things out.
In the meantime, would you rather continue as we are now, or use the backup created yesterday (about right before we started on the giant circle below Laputa).
You guys have to have a unified decision about this, since other people's stuff will be drawn back aswell.

I vote for the backup.

So I built this level upper machine. where people walk in and are instantly leveled up
...
But it turned out to be a doomsday machine D:
Im hoping I can absorb all the XP and this whole thing will settle down. >_>

Wait... is it that sealed off machine by the spawn... ?
We should probably get rid of it before someone sets it off accidentally...

Yes it is.
We
probably should.
and I
probably shouldn't have armed it before I left.

(I checked on it when I logged in. Someone definitely set it off ... LOL)
I think the machine works, it just needs to be scaled down and the clock speed slowed. The server can't handle all the item the dispensers spit out in that short amount of time.
I was trying to think of some cool things to hide in laputa (a machine that levels you up quickly seemed like a good idea at the time >_>)

Traps. Hidden staircases. Buttons that use redwire to activate cool shit. I made a setup in a 10 by 5 by 5 space. You flicked a switch and it made the floor of an alcove go aside and then it would push a workbench into the slot and up to the player. Coolest shit ever. And Laputa is big enough that you can do all kinds of that shit and just tuck the wiring into the floors easily. Also, if you'd like to have easier access to in-place wiring, go get the SMP version of Smart Moving mod. Moving through a 1 high redstone wiring crawl space is useful beyond all imaginings. Allows you to really compact the design and still be able to fix it if something goes wrong after installation.
I miss working with redstone. It was the only thing that I still get a kick out of in Minecraft. Just don't play it much anymore.

that was me, I was alone on the server, so I set it off.
