That job actually totally blew. The owners of that company are scam artists and half the things they sell don't work out of the box. The worst part about it is the return policy; once you open the items box you are no longer eligible for a refund, you can only get store credit..... to buy more merchandise that will most likely arrive defective.

I actually just quit on Tuesday, and now I have an even more badass job as of yesterday.

I sell parts for these:

Can you send me parts? for ... uhhh ... samples? YES! SAMPLES!

but seriously, fuck you auto industry. Bastards ask for a quote on some bullshit part design and once you get it done they immediately turn around and ask for production quality samples.

They don't drop a dime and manage to milk hundreds of man hours and dozens of parts out of us in all the time we spend just trying to get their business.

Well you can rest easy because a dominant portion of our parts are made in either the UK or Taiwan.

I think.

Just because it says made in ___ means it was actually entirely made in that country,

Our packing tubes come from germany, the die is made in the US, the technical material comes from france, most of the plastic molding material comes from China, Our PCBs come from japan.

The product has MADE IN USA right on the molded housing.

This job has really opened my eyes in terms of just realizing how many companies (total and internationally) are between the raw material and the finished product.

So it's ok if they're milking hundreds of man hours out of workers in the uk?!

Awww shit son! Whatever, a job's a job, the man hours you have to put in don't matter in my opinion, as long as you're being paid a decent wage. Well, I say that now, once I have a job I'll let you know what I think.

Drinking water.

Actually, there's a chance that I won't be a radio op. There's other jobs in the 06 field that I'm likely to end up in. Not sure if I should be happy or disappointed that I might not be a radio op.
