When people like you think their musical taste is varied to an unreal degree, I begin to wonder what that makes me or h2ostra's musical tastes. That pales in comparison.Spartan X wrote:My taste in music varies more than an interracial 10some. For example, I like Jack Johnson, but also like Slipknot, AFI, and the Repetative Ramones. Now back on topic:
I think I may have mentioned this band in the long-dead "metal heads" thread, but I have been listening to them a fair bit lately, and I think that they deserve another mention
Amesoeurs: A french post-punk/shoegaze/black metal band that broke up after only an EP and a self-titled full length, which is really quite disappointing, considering the amount of potential they had, and the relative uniqueness of their music. Fortunately, a glimmer of their sound can still be heard in the members' other projects (Most notably, Alcest).

I'm not sure if it's me, but I can't make sense of this statement.Renegade_Turner wrote: When people like you think their musical taste is varied to an unreal degree, I begin to wonder what that makes me or h2ostra's musical tastes. That pales in comparison.

Re: Errm..your favourite music?
Sorry for the double-post but I think it's called for considering the earlier post was much earlier and I just found a song that I want to contribute.
This song reminds me of Glastonbury 2009. There was a charity ad made specifically for Glastonbury that they kept showing on the big screens. This song was the song playing in the background, and I heard it many times. It's "The Sailor Song" by The Gadsdens, and English band.

How would you know it was musical ear-rape unless you attempted to listen to it? Unless you are assuming all stuff by that band rapes your ear with music...zoidberg rules wrote:im not even going to attempt to listen to that piece of musical ear-rape.

I felt this was appropriate, in light of the discussion in the "Future of Video Games" thread.

I love Dalek. I love this song.
The beat that kicks in at 0:37 is amazing. It's so dark for hip-hop.

Necro'd for good music:
Fang Island:
Not sure why there is a pokemon there, but that isn't the point. I saw these guys on tour with Red Sparowes, and they are are really infectious. One of the few "fun" bands that I really can get into. Oh, and they have an ex-member of Daughters. I wouldn't be surprised if their self-titled album ended up being one of my favorite albums of 2010.
Kylesa:
Along similar lines of Baroness and Mastodon, though in the case of this song straying a bit more in the "atmospheric/psychedelic" direction. I don't know why I didn't get into this band sooner than I did, because they are great.

You have to remove all tags at the end of the URL for it to work.Blorx wrote:Totally awesome

In this perticular case I've highlighted the tags in red.
